Departmental Support Services Manager

**Requirements**:

- A relevant B degree within the public administration and

management, human resources, or similar fields
- Eight (8) years’ extensive relevant managerial experience

preferably within a local government environment
- Sound knowledge and understanding of local government services

and environment as well as legislation applicable to Local

Government, Council policies, processes and procedures
- Results-driven approach and proven track record of service

delivery.

Key Performance Areas
- Identify and define the immediate, short
- and long-term objectives

**and plans associated with the Support Services Unit including**:

- input into the IDP and strategic framework of the department
- provide guidance and ensure the implementation of key

performance indicators and measures outcomes detailed in the

Department’s business and strategic plans
- provide a conceptual framework of current and future

administrative interventions.
- develop Library and Information Services related processes and

procedures
- assess the appropriateness of the specific policies and procedures
- keeping abreast of technological advances and best practices
- Manage the Support Services Branch (staff, finance, assets) and

provide input into the staff budget of the department
- Manage and coordinate the planning, development and

implementation of the department’s business plans, scorecards /

SDBIPs and risk registers
- Direct and control the outcomes associated with the functions

related to human resources administration within the department
- Oversee the development and implementation of the

Department’s Skills Development Strategy and Objectives
- Manage, lead and coordinate the implementation and

operationalisation of the Department’s EPWP programmes and

projects
- Manage the implementation of systems and procedures associated

with general administration inclusive of the courier service and
