Group Human Resource Manager

A large-scale competitive construction and engineering company is looking for a Group Human Resources Manager to lead in the development, implementation and compliance of HR policies and management within the company and its subsidiaries, whilst ensuring that this is in alignment with the company’s values, vision, and business (strategic) action plans. This new role offers people and organisational management-related challenges and opportunities on an international scale, requiring the most experienced, confident, and head strong decision maker to tackle.

Type: Permanent
Reports to: CEO/ Founder
Job titles of direct reports: HR & Compliance Liaison per country and Head of Administration and HR & Compliance.
Travel requirements: Travelling to all subsidiaries in Africa
Job description / core competencies:
The individual will be responsible for HR-related advisory services and interventions, focussing on the critical elements of organisational effectiveness. You will be offering support and sustainability (keeping the team together), delivering to expectations to ensure that the promise and service has been made on time and on budget, as well as supporting the growth of the company and the engagement of the team. The objective of the position is to lead, guide and enhance the performance of the workforce throughout the organization and its subsidiaries in various African countries, in order to achieve the agreed objectives, set for the department and the strategic and objective goals of the business. Ultimately, the Group HR must assimilate and deploy a broad range of talent and skills to be able to deliver unique solutions in the multi-industry project narrative, spanning across an international board that will address client-specific needs effectively and opportunely by integrating the company’s distinguishable service offerings.

Job Qualification & Experience:
**Skills**:Demonstrable action planning and project management skills. Demonstrable managerial skills (planning, leading, organising, controlling). Report writing skills at EXCO level, excellent verbal and written communication in English, HR and Organisational Transformation strategy Communication and networking skills at senior level, Microsoft Office Professional (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, etc.)
**Experience**:
Demonstrable successes in managerial positions, demonstrable success in Human Resources management, demonstrable understanding of labour legislation, demonstrable and working understanding of HR systems, e.g. remuneration, payroll, HR information systems, succession planning, talent development, discipline, grievance, collective bargaining, etc.
Qualifications:
Appropriate tertiary qualification(s) to support the role requirements, a tertiary business qualification (MDP, EDP, MBA) would be advantageous.
