**Full Job Description: Labour Relations Officer**

Prime African Security is looking for a Labour Relations Officer for our office based in Hatfield, Pretoria.

**Contractual Arrangement**: Fixed-term appointment

**Package and Remuneration: R12 000.00 - Depending on experience**

**The primary objective of the role is as follows**:
The Labour Relations Officer is responsible for providing support to the HR department with employee relations matters, employee wellness, Employment Equity, recruitment, and selection and any other matters as they arise in the department.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Minimizing internal disputes;
- Present the position of the company or of labor during arbitration or other labor negotiations;
- Handle CCMA or Labour court referrals;
- Schedule or coordinate the details of grievance hearings or other meetings;
- Ensure all relevant people attend the necessary CCMA proceedings (conciliation and arbitration) and ensure such people are prepared and coached accordingly;
- Propose resolutions for collective bargaining or other labor or contract negotiations;
- Advise management on all matters that involve conflict between employees;
- Work with the HR and departmental Managers with respect to disciplinary action required, including preparation of documents, investigation of any offence, scheduling hearings, and attendance at hearings;
- Train managers or supervisors on topics related to labor relations, such as working conditions, safety, or equal opportunity practices;
- Assist in the organization and induction of new staff on the code of conduct, HR and IR protocols and operating procedures during orientation;
- Provide weekly and ad hoc reports;
- Any other duties as may be assigned.

**Competencies**:

- Education level Degree or equivalent;
- Certificate, degree, diploma or other relevant experience relating to HR, IR/ ER, SA Labour Legislation;
- Minimum 3 years labour relations experience; ;
- An understanding of BCEA, LRA, OHS, EE, SDL and POPI acts. - Knowledge of regulations and compliance as it relates to Human resources and South African law;
- Previous experience working in the security sector advantageous;
- Excellent communication skills, analytical thinking, adaptability, presentation, conflict and stress management and negotiation skills;
- Excellent verbal and written reporting skills;
- Project management and financial managements skills;
- Microsoft Package;
- Attention to detail;
- Strong time management skills.

Pay: R12,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Pretoria, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:
