The Logistics Coordinator ensures the smooth and efficient delivery of goods and services to
local customers and export locations. Their main duties include arranging on time delivery,
coordinating collections, preparing shipping documentation and permits, arranging dangerous
goods packaging and hazardous material shipping. The position is responsible for local and
export sales customers in line with the PPG Export Compliance Programme.
CORE ACTIVITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Planning and monitoring the daily delivery schedule for local and export shipments.
Communicating with shipping lines and agents, and maintaining good relations with all
parties involved
Ensuring accurate and timely administration
Having knowledge of South African and international customs clearance laws, procedures,
and regulations.
Complete costing files after the shipment has been executed.
Responding to customer inquiries and referring clients to the proper channels.
Making special shipping arrangements as necessary.
Tracking shipments.
Preparing bills and related documents.
Ensure logistics remain in line with PPG Export Compliance rules.
Professionally manage correspondence between PPG and external stakeholders.
Interact with local and regional commercial teams.
Provide support and backup for other internal functions.
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Hands-on and a self-starter with a strong work ethic, having good communication,
interpersonal, planning and organisational skills.
Handle stress and work well under pressure in a dynamic environment.
Be emotionally mature, and a team player in a matrix environment.
Experience on SAP B1 or similar required.
Five years of proven experience in a similar role.
Minimum Grade 12 certificate.
