**Role purpose**:
The purpose of the EHOD Retail Economics and Business Support role is to provide Financial and BI expertise to enhance the retail operations inputs to the CBU strategic development, tactical execution, performance evaluation and decision-making. The role manages the end-to-end budget, financial and reporting function within ROPs and provides related input and support to other business partners and stakeholders. The role uses current technology and data tools to drive BI intelligence enabling commercially beneficial decision making in areas such as channel economics and investment, retail capability optimisation, risk and compliance mitigation and remediation.

**Your responsibilities will include**:
**Budget Management - OPEX & CAPEX and Financial Processing**
End to end operational finance and BI support
Manage the preparation, review and consolidation of a detailed 1-year budget, quarterly reviews for ROPs. Full budget management
OPEX and CAPEX forecasting
Actual performance against budget and investment forecasts.
Cost efficiency strategy management
Strategic Budgeting - forecast a 2-3 year budget to allow for strategic planning and execution over longer than 1 FY budget period (long range planning)
Vodacom World Shop and Vodacom Events P&L reporting and analysis to aid in efficiencies and enhancements to business effectiveness and profitability

**BI & Performance Dashboards & Reporting / Innovation, Technologies & Data**
Financial planning /performance analysis, and Financial reporting to enable ROPS to deliver on the divisions overall strategic goals
Ensure up to date and accurate financial reports for month end, queries and year-end
Set benchmarks and evaluate performance against benchmarks
Monitor financial performance and identify improvement areas
Month end, financial and performance reporting - including relevant BI
Retail reporting and data analytics to enable ROPS to deliver on the divisions overall strategic goals and ensure effective decision-making and return on investment

**Commercial Analysis and Business Case Formulation**:
Conduct commercial feasibility assessments, forecasts and cost benefit analysis including ROI break even periods
Formulate business cases to validate plans and costing models
Monitoring delivery against the business case commitments to reconcile forecasted and actual activity both from an operational and financial performance metric nature
Evaluate proposals as provided from a financial view from time to time
Co-ordinate and provide information to various areas of business from time to time

**Governance: Compliance & Risk Management (Operational line mitigation & assurance)**
Ensure adherence to policies and procedures that have a financial and non-financial implication on the business environment
Review of control environment to advise on systems and processes that will aid in the monitoring and mitigation of risks
Direct and co-ordinate auditor activities when required
To oversee and control ad-hoc special projects to ensure that the objectives of the projects are met and delivery achieved in time
Liaison with, and, providing a support function to, internal stakeholders and suppliers, and timeous resolution of queries and escalations

**Collaborative Partnerships & Stakeholder Management**
Establish, maintain and improve relationships with key stakeholders
Becoming a trusted advisor to regional teams pursuant of strategy achievement

**People Leadership / Living the Vodacom Spirit**
To establish clear communication both upward and downward within the division and to external parties on areas with commercial or financial impact
To manage, improve and develop relationships with external stakeholders and assist with negotiation of significant commercial changes, where applicable
To manage, improve and develop the overall performance of your team including but not limited to - engagement, capacity management including related task allocation, supporting relevant development plans, succession and talent planning

**Qualification**:
Honours / CTA / CA - essential.
Business Intelligence / Analytics Degree or certified courses or equivalent - highly beneficial

**Experience**:
+8 years in a financial management role with strong commercial experience and exposure to data and BI tools and analytics or similar role - essential
Of which:
+3 years leadership/people and team management - essential
+2 years in a FMCG, retail, banking or similar environment within the corporate sector - preferred
ICT industry experience - preferred
