wat aangebied word deur die Biblioteek
- en Inligtingsdienste ten volle te benut;Onderneem die oorhoofse bestuur van effektiewe inligtingsdienste wat voldoen aan die behoeftes van die akademiese gemeenskap deur die ontwikkeling van

nuwe dienste en/of die aanpassing en herontwikkeling van bestaande dienste;Oorhoofse verantwoordelikheid vir kliëntekommunikasie inisiatiewe om te verseker dat reëls, beleide, nuwe dienste, veranderings ten opsigte van biblioteekure, ens.,

deurlopend onder die aandag van Stellenbosch studente en personeel gebring word;Uitvoering van algemene bestuursfunksies, onder meer menslike hulpbron
- en projekbestuur;- Onderneem effektiewe strategiese menslike hulpbronbeplanning ten opsigte van Akademiese Dienste in samewerking met die hoofde van die drie afdelings;- Effektiewe bestuur van n gehalteversekeringsstelsel om innoverende en wêreldklas navorsing-, onderrig
- en leersteundienste wat akademiese uitnemendheid

nastreef, te verseker.As a member of senior management, making an effective and creative contribution to strategic planning and development to achieve the fulfilment and promotionof the role of the Library and Information Service in line with the objectives of the University.Effectively managing the strategies relating to information and research support services, digital and information skills training, and digital-oriented learning andinnovation spaces.Overall responsibility for leading, managing and developing three academic services divisions in the SU Library, namely Information Services, Learning andTraining and Circulation.Overseeing and ensuring effective digital and information skills training and e-learning programmes to enable clients to make full use of the information resourcesand services offered by the Library and Information Service;Undertaking the overall management of effective information services that meet the needs of the academic community through the development of new servicesand/or the adaptation and redevelopment of existing services;Overall responsibility for client communication initiatives to ensure that rules, policies, new services, changes to library hours, etc., are continously brought underthe attention of Stellenbosch University students and staff;General management functions relating to responsibility areas, such as human resources management and project management;-
- Undertaking effective strategic human resources planning for Academic Services in conjunction with the heads of the three divisions;-
- Effectively managing a quality-assurance system to ensure innovative and world-class research, teaching and learning support services in pursuit of academicexcellence.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes- 'n Toepaslike gevorderde nagraadse kwalifikasie in Biblioteek
- en Inligtingkunde, of gelykwaardige kwalifikasie op minstens NKR-vlak 8;- Minstens agt jaar ervaring van middelvlakbestuur, verkieslik in n inligtingsdiens
- en navorsingsondersteuningsomgewing in n akademiese biblioteek;- In diepte kennis van die behoeftes van die akademiese gemeenskap ten opsigte van inligtingsdienste, navorsingsondersteuning, digitale
- en inligtingsvaardighede

opleiding en digitale georiënteerde leer
- en innovasieruimtes;Die bewese vermoë tot dinamiese leiding ten opsigte van deurlopende waardetoevoeging tot die veranderende kliëntebehoeftes van die akademiese gemeenskap;- Goeie ervaring van menslikehulpbronnebestuur;- Die vermoë om op senior bestuursvlak te funksioneer;- Uitstekende interpersoonlike vaardighede;- Hoëvlak rekenaarvaardigheid ten opsigte van algemene en biblioteektoepassings;- Strategiese beplanningsvaardighede;- Gevorderde bestuurskundigheid;- Uitstekende mondelinge en skriftelike kommunikasievaardighede;- Die vermoë om effektief in spanverband te werk.An advanced relevant postgraduate qualification in Library and Information Science, or equivalent qualification on at least NQF level 8.-
