Duties/Pligte
- Managing and coordinating the services at the Unit. This includes rendering psychological therapy services to students, mainly individually but also in groups, managing crises situations with students, especially trauma-based, developing and presenting work sessions that promote a healthy lifestyle amongst students, and rendering social work services to students;
- Managing and coordinating the staff at the Unit (including performance management and staff development);Financial and administrative management of the Unit;
- Managing the 24-hour crisis intervention programme in collaboration with ER24, as well as case management in an ethically sound manner;
- Closely collaborating with Faculties and other support service divisions regarding student success and wellness;
- Shared responsibility for the management of the Centre's Psychology CPD Well Programme for sustainable accreditation of psychologists;
- Providing support to the Director: Centre for Student Counselling and Development;
- Representing the University at relevant external forums;
- Managing appropriate research projects to sustain cutting edge service delivery.

- Betrokkenheid by die bestuur van die Sentrum se Psychology CPD Well-program vir volhoubare akkreditasie vir sielkundiges;
- Bied ondersteuning aan die Direkteur: Sentrum vir Studentevoorligting en -ontwikkeling;
- Verteenwoordiging van die Universiteit by tersaaklike eksterne forums;Inisiëring en deurvoering van toepaslike navorsing om voorpunt-dienslewering te handhaaf.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- Master's degree;
- Registration (of at least five years) with the relevant Council in South Africa as Clinical, Educational or Counselling Psychologist (Health Professions Council of South Africa);Proven experience in providing psychotherapeutic services to young adults, specifically trauma-based therapeutic service delivery;
- Proven experience in dealing with students with pathology (including substance related cases, psychosis, rape and aggressive cases);
- Proven experience in crisis management;
- Proven experience in Community Psychology;
- At least three years¿ experience of management in a similar unit or environment;
- Proven experience in administration (including financial administration);
- Excellent communication and language skills in English and one other official South African language;
- Computer skills in the MS Office package.

- en aggressiewe gevalle);
- Bewese ervaring in krisisbestuur;Bewese ervaring in Gemeenskapsielkunde;
- Minstens drie jaar se ervaring van bestuur in 'n soortgelyke Eenheid of omgewing;
- Bewese ervaring van administrasie (insluitend finansiële administrasie);
- Uitstekende kommunikasie
- en taalvaardighede in Engels en een ander amptelike Suid-Afrikaanse taal;
- Rekenaarvaardigheid in die MS Office pakket.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling
- Specific experience in the duties as indicated above;
- Experience in multidisciplinary cooperation with medical practitioners and other health professionals within the health sciences;
- Experience of management within a higher education environment, specifically the management of staff and change management;
- Competence in an additional African language.
