**About the job**:
The EMEA News and Books Partnerships team works to transform Google’s relationships with the news industry in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa regions. We collaborate across different Product Areas at Google to ensure a coordinated approach when engaging with our strategic partners, including News associations and Trade teams, to grow our business and theirs, build trust, and deepen relationships. We also collaborate closely with other teams at Google to highlight our work and tell great stories about our engagement with the news industries in our region.

In this role, you will execute the strategy set for Sub-Sahara African based on programs and products with cross-functional teams. You will maintain an understanding of the News ecosystem in Sub-Sahara Africa and Google’s role within it. You will also advocate for our partners with internal regional and global stakeholders and play a pivotal role in shaping Google’s News initiatives as we continue to gather the world's information for our users.

We build and distribute products through partnerships across a multitude of product areas, including Ads, Search & Assistant, Geo, Platforms & Ecosystems, Devices & Services, Health, Retail, Payments, Next Billion Users, and more. We collaborate across Google, ensuring a coordinated approach when engaging with our most complex and strategic partners.

**Responsibilities**:

- Own the planning and execution of the agreed News Partnerships strategy by leveraging existing resources with the objective of addressing Google’s opportunities and challenges with the news organizations in Sub-Sahara Africa from a business and reputational perspective.
- Collaborate across different Google teams to drive a partner
- and industry-focused approach that elevates relationships to the executive level for strategic News partners in Sub-Sahara African.
- Propose strategies and provide insights on Google’s industry programs.
- Own relationships and address our key external relationship challenges at the executive level with key News partners.
- Identify and prioritize partner focuses and become knowledgable on each focus's organization, business model, and strategic priorities. Serve as a liaison with these partners regarding product and feature launches and distribution opportunities.
