To support the design, development and implementation of policies and programmes that will meet the Earth Observations Data user’s requirements in the implementation of the South African Earth Observation Strategy

**JOB DESCRIPTION**
- Engage user communities to develop user requirements specifications on Earth Observations (EO)
- Communicate the benefits of using EO for better decision making to relevant stakeholders
- Support the review of the EO strategy and other related matters
- Facilitate the implementation of the strategy through EO related stakeholders (e.g. SANSA, SAEON)
- Mobilise funding for proposals based on user engagements and selection of the proposals for implementation
- Engage internationally, regionally and locally through bilateral and multilateral arrangement
- Capacitate the region, especially SADC on the beneficial use of EO information
- Collaborate with other countries on initiatives identified, especially in the SADC region

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
- National Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences or Engineering.
- Honours or postgraduate in Remote Sensing or Geospatial Science will be an added advantage.
- Minimum three years working experience within Earth Observations.
