**Playlist Administration & Checks**

Cleaning and checking the accuracy of the playlist against the printed schedule, including all primary, secondary and transmission sources daily.

Implementing transmission instructions and reporting discrepancies well ahead of the daily transmission.

Monitoring the missing media count and informing Engineering of irregularities.

Ensuring that your assigned playlists are running on time on every shift.

Monitoring the playlist in the expanded view on every shift.

Reporting secondary events that displays missed errors on every shift.

Reporting outstanding media and any playlist discrepancies well ahead of transmission.

Ensuring that the correct media and timings are added to instances of missing media before the broadcast. If timings are not available during the shift, include it as a discrepancy in your handover and report on every shift.

Saving playlists, at the beginning and the end of every shift, in the correct playlist specific folders, ensuring that files are titled in line with the established departmental standard.

Ensuring that all aspects of events within live timeslots are double checked and corrected before the live event commences.

**Runner**

Ensuring that all schedule handover items from presentations are actioned.

Ensuring that on every runner shift which incorporates receiving more than one day of downloaded logs, all changes received which affect the downloaded log days are printed, and placed in the relevant DOW sleeve.

Ensuring that the runner updates with handover information from the previous shift, and always check DOW sleeves when completing weekend/public holiday shifts.

Executing every commercial change and schedule update accurately in accordance with the SOP on every shift.

Checking all playlists for outstanding media and discrepancies

Ensuring effective follow up of transmission related discrepancies via the Missing Media Reports, escalating to relevant departments via telephone if it is close to transmission; with the purpose of resolving discrepancies before transmission.

Ensuring that the preliminary and final schedule shift/missing media reports are accurate, comprehensive, and sent out at the SOP designated times.

Ensuring that programmes with estimated durations are replaced with actual durations on the printed log and playlist before broadcast for all channels.

Following up to ensure that necessary standby material is loaded before scheduled live events.

Checking that break durations, match the break duration schedules for all live events that these are provided for, across channels and inform relevant parties if there are changes due to late bookings.

**Transmission Control**

Proactively monitoring the video and audio quality of your allocated channels during your shift, to ensure and error free broadcast within the period of your shift. This pertains to, but is not limited to:

- Monitoring and supervision of media during transmission, and to
- Checking that the transmission source for live events carries the required content before cueing the live event.
- Ensuring that live broadcasts are in line with broadcast standards.

Taking time to individually switch between channels within short intervals for audio monitoring.

Reporting any issues within transmission to the duty Senior Transmission Controller and assist in troubleshooting issues before transmission to prevent broadcast errors.

Making note of issues listed in the previous shift’s handover.

Ensuring that a thorough follow up is done and that the duty Senior Controller and relevant departments are informed timeously.

Proactively ensuring and monitoring that each channel completes a seamless transition from one schedule day to the next.

Minimising on-air faults during breakdowns and the duration of a break-in transmission by following the relevant departmental procedure.

Monitoring the health of the automation system and the continuous communication with the housekeeper server.

Taking manual control of the playlist during live events and in case of faults with the automation system. Reporting issues to the Senior Controller in order to escalate to Engineering.

Ensuring that you have standby material prepared for live events and that the necessary media and media timings are loaded and ready to air.

Ensuring that the affected playlist is immediately balanced, making sure that all programmes which follow, start as close to the planned schedule start time as possible every live event.

**Reporting**

Ensuring accurate and comprehensive handover information of any issues affecting media and transmission to the new crew before the end of every shift.

Discussing your report with the senior controller before sending it, aiming to understand the nature and origin of the error in order to know how to avoid repeat the error in the future.
