Digital Venture Lead

Job Description
To shape early stage beyond bank ventures that enable RMB to explore new edge businesses, supporting business with a process for effective mobilisation, conception, development, and incubation of opportunities that are identified as high-growth businesses to meet changing customer and client needs from the ground up.
To manage new, viable ventures with the aim of ensuring sustainable business growth into the future.
- Nurture concepts from ideation through to pioneering custom built solutions.
- Advise on and manage the creative and technical process of a small, curated team that will incubate new beyond bank ventures.
- Perform the end-to-end process of coordinating of the discovery, validation, build and soft launch of new business sponsored venture opportunities.
- Provide feedback to internal stakeholders on venture opportunities via weekly meetings, playback sessions and advisory steerco packs.
- Understand and champion client needs to guide decision making and investment in ventures.
- Be the voice of the customer internally and facilitate the conversion of knowledge and ideas into new digital Venture opportunities.
- Explore local and international trends and markets for new opportunities, platforms and products in order to expand and strengthen the organisational position as a leading wholesale bank into the future.
- Manage designated venture opportunities from inception to final execution, including post implementation evaluation against identified success criteria.
- Follow the Venture studio process detailing Discovery i.e., 6 to 8 weeks to unpack the opportunities, Validation i.e., 6-to-12-week process to validate the identified opportunity and evaluate the build, partner, or buy options, Business Design and Prototype i.e., 8 to 12 weeks for designing and building the prototype and allowing further of validation sessions and customer feedback, and MVP launch i.e., 9 to 18 months.
- Drive the Minimum Viable Product as more than a Proof of Concept (POC), rather as a fully functional business venture or product offering with sufficient functionality for customers to find it useful and engage with, forming the basis of all future developments utilising the Lean Start-up methodology.
- Evaluate the MVP against the success criteria to decide the future of the venture.
- Initiate and manage market research, data mining and quantitative analysis to support the discovery, validation and MVP build phase of the venture opportunity to minimise the risk of failure and ensure sustainability and future competitive growth.
- Promote substantial use of reports and systems to translate strategies into actionable goals and execute relevant projects or initiatives aligned to strategic objectives with specific performance measures and control systems to track and monitor progress.
- Implement and maintain sound business processes that minimise organisational risk and deliver quality requirements specifications and monitor venture opportunity progress.
