**THE ORGANISATION**

AMANDLA is a globally award-winning social enterprise with over a decade of experience in the development sector, specialising in infrastructure, youth and community development and sport for development. We have offices in Cape Town, Johannesburg (South Africa), Berlin (Germany) and Philadelphia (USA).

AMANDLA currently has 14 operational sites nationwide and is currently rolling out more exciting infrastructure projects nationwide. The Set-Up & Construction Department is responsible for land acquisition, development planning, infrastructure design development, construction execution and maintenance.

**JOB SCOPE**

In your capacity as Digital Development Manager at AMANDLA, your primary focus will be hands-on development and implementation of technological solutions to enhance AMANDLA’s product portfolio. This role demands active involvement in coding, system architecture, and the development of digital products. Key responsibilities include:

- Leading the development and operational execution of digital products, ensuring hands-on involvement in both front-end and back-end development.
- Directly contributing to the development and scaling of social ventures with a practical, problem-solving approach, particularly in startup-like environments.
- Providing practical insights and recommendations for AMANDLA’s ICT strategy, with a focus on actionable, technology-driven solutions.
- Serving as the primary liaison for third-party suppliers and development teams, emphasizing a collaborative and practical approach to project management.
- Reporting to the General Manager, Innovation & New Ventures, within the Innovation & Digital directorate, you will independently drive strategic objectives while advancing AMANDLA’s processes and products through digital innovation.

In your role as **Digital Development Manager**, you will be responsible to identify, research and implement technological trends to enable AMANDLA’s product portfolio. The role engages both business stakeholders and techie teams, while informing and leading the organisational efforts to scale both AMANDLA’s product and social ventures through digital technology. Your duties and responsibilities include:

- Develop and own digital product
- Support the development and scaling of social ventures
- Advise on AMANDLA’s ICT strategy globally
- Informs and engages AMANDLA’s cross-functional leads on technological trends
- Act as main point of contact for 3rd party suppliers / dev teams

The Digital Development Manager understands cross-functional needs, executes strategic objectives independently whilst advancing AMANDLA’s processes and products digitally. Situated within AMANDLA’s **Innovation & **New Ventures directorate, the Digital Development Manager reports to General Manager, Innovation & New Ventures

**CORE COMPETENCIES, ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS and PREFERENCES**

**Education/Equivalent**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar degree or diploma

**Experience/Skill**
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a digital development role, with a strong focus on both front-end and back-end development.
- Proven experience in successfully managing and delivering digital projects
- Strong knowledge of digital platforms, technologies, and best practices
- Experience in using design tools such as Figma for creating wireframes, prototypes, and user interface designs
- Advanced coding skills in relevant languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and knowledge of web development frameworks (React, Angular, or equivalent) and NodeJS (or equivalent).
- Excellent communication, project management, and time-management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently, adapting to changing priorities
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools
- Ability to resolve problems in a timely manner
- Ability to communicate technical information and ideas
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
- Technical/conversational knowledge & track record in delivery of projects in some or all of the following areas:
