**Job Description: Yacht Charter Base Lead**

**Position**: Yacht Charter Base Lead
**Location**: Mahe, Seychelles.
**Reports to**: Operations Director
**Fleet Size**: 6 Yachts
- **Job Summary**_:_
- As the Yacht Charter Base Manager, you will oversee the operation and management of a fleet of 6 yachts, ensuring that all aspects of the base run smoothly and efficiently. This role requires not only strong leadership and technical expertise but also a collaborative approach to working with key support functions such as Finance, Human Resources, and Sales & Marketing. Your goal will be to maintain high company standards, deliver exceptional customer service, and drive the success of the base._

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Leadership and Team Management**:

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of technicians, cleaning (interior & exterior) customer service, and any casual or technical contractors/ charter team (i.e. Skippers & Cooks).
- Create and maintain a positive working environment, fostering teamwork and collaboration. Lead on operational training for team members to ensure high standards of yachts are delivered to our customers.
- Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet operational demands, including staff scheduling and task assignments.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and address any issues.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to recruit, train, and develop team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
- Implement performance management processes in partnership with HR, providing regular feedback, conducting performance appraisals, and addressing any personnel issues promptly.
- Manage team attendance and performance on a daily basis with support from HR and ensure records are accurate and complete for monthly payroll.
- Work closely with the finance department to manage operational budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
- **Fleet Management and Technical Oversight**:

- Oversee the maintenance and technical operations of a fleet of 6 yachts, ensuring they are in optimal condition and successfully deliver guests charters with a focus on minimising chase calls.
- Develop and manage a preventative maintenance program, coordinating with finance support to budget for repairs, parts, and upgrades.
- Liaise with external contractors and suppliers, negotiating terms and ensuring quality and timely service delivery.
- Conduct regular yacht inspections, ensuring compliance with maritime safety regulations and company standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise, providing hands-on support when needed.
- **Operational Management**:

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the yacht charter base, ensuring smooth processes from client check-in to yacht handover including technical and chart briefings/debriefings.
- Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment, ensuring all necessary items are available and accounted for and are sourced in accordance with company standards and cost efficiency.
- Maintain and clean and organised stock room, dock/pontoon and office.
- Ensure that all yachts are properly cleaned, provisioned (where needed), and equipped before each charter.
- Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and issues with professionalism, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and manage operational costs, striving for efficiency without compromising on quality.
- **Safety and Compliance**:

- Ensure all operations comply with maritime regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections for each yacht, and collate to finance support each month.
- Conduct safety briefings and training for the team and ensure that all yachts are equipped with the necessary safety gear.
