At The Moorings and Sunsail, we plan and deliver fantastic yacht charter experiences across the world. Whilst at Leopard Catamarans, we design spacious, robust, performance-driven cruising catamarans. We are looking for a Yachts Commissiong Agent who will interact with all yachts presented by the contracted factory Robertson and Caine, to THL Marine, incorporating The Moorings, Sunsail and Leopard Catamarans.

The Yachts Commissioning Agent in conjunction with the Yachts Commissioning Lead is responsible for ensuring safe keep of the yachts pre delivery, this delivery may be by ship or on the yachts own hull. The role requires a suitable hand over of the yacht to a delivery skipper if it is to be on-water delivered or to the sales agent if handed over to an owner in Cape Town, if shipped it is the responsibility of the Yachts Commissioning Agent to load and secure the yachts working with contractors and the load master. Good digital documentation of all aspects of this process is required. This is a hands-on role and will require some irregular hours of operation.

**Responsibilities**:
Completion of systems checks and preparation on departing vessels (Sea Freight or Own hull Sea Delivery)
- Responsible for temporary storage of yachts in between shipping
- Securing and readjusting yachts pertaining to weather systems
- Secure access to the yachts
- Complete a comprehensive systems check of all yachts
- Review all mechanical, electrical and plumbing installations
- Ensuring yachts battery systems remain charged and the yachts are clean of debris
- Ensure the Load safety gear (in line with the COO) and charter inventory is aboard prior to shipping
- Inspects and reviews yachts whilst in the V&A resolving warranty issue pre departure using the warranty claim process
- Photograph any shortfalls or failures and document accordingly digitally through company’s systems pre departure
- Ensure the yachts are appropriately surface prepared and clean, with all systems operational prior to shipping
- Ensure the yachts are thoroughly cleaned and all wrapping removed prior to a Cape Town hand over
- Work closely with Cape Town Sales Agents and After sales agent to ensure yachts are presentable and in appropriate locations and condition for viewing
- Utilizing the company’s digital systems Sailsense and Trello note any defects still requiring attention at the time of shipping
- Participates in the loading of the vessels and reports on any damages whilst loading or strapping working with the Florida logistics manager, contractors, load masters and ships agents
- Always maintain relationships with and liaise with relevant licensing authorities to ensure compliance
- Ensure all health and safety standards are adhered to without exception, and any issues raised with line management immediately
- Complete all risk assessments on time and in full
- Ability to utilize computer software programs such as Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook, and data systems
- Ensure a friendly and helpful attitude is maintained among the team and other departments and ensures the same is provided to all customers and business partners
- Enhance inter departmental collaboration

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- 5 + years’ experience professional work on yachts
- South African Sailing Yachtmaster Offshore or equivalent
- South Africa Operators license
- Valid driver license
- Microsoft word and Xcel literate
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity
- Good attention to detail
- Mechanical, Electrical and boat building experience

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Marine Surveyors diploma
- Technical Diploma
