Core Description
Responsible for managing employee relations matters and investigations across the Company and is expected to demonstrate a clear understanding of legal compliance, applicable legislation, regulations, and Company policies and procedures. Key Deliverables / Primary Functions
- Understand the strategic objectives and future vision of BCX and identify employee-related priorities.
- Support the development of the Employee Relations strategy for the Company, aligned to the BCX’s strategic objectives, culture, values and ways of working.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of tools, policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of ER, to ensure all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while still delivering a quality, cost-effective service to stakeholders.
- Keep up to date and provide insight into relevant ER and markets sector trends; and advise on leading practices for continuous improvement purposes.
- Identify actual or potential risks to the Company; and provide expert advice and insights to mitigate the potential harmful impact that they may have on the organisation’s performance and achievement of Company and BU specific strategic imperatives.
- Oversee and ensure the compliance of other HR functions to the ER Framework, including talent management, performance management, diversity and inclusion, reward, learning and development etc.
- Provide thought leadership, coaching, guidance and support to Line Management and HR Business Partners on more complex employee relations issues that require specialized expertise; and represent and/or facilitate the Company at the CCMA and/or Labour Courts where required.
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders and build strong partnerships across all levels of leadership, within HR Business Partners and other HR COE’s.
- Support the Senior Manager: Employee Relations with developing an annual ER CoE budget forecast in relation to the previous year spend and future needs; and monitor the financial performance against the budget to ensure corrective actions where applicable.
- Present and report on metrics (value and impact made to the organisation) to leadership and other relevant internal stakeholders.
- Monitor and report on compliance with statutory and practice regulations and overall risk mitigation strategies.
- Manage all requirements relating to audits, reporting and the provision of documentation to the Department of Labour, as and when required. Functional Skills
