Finance Administrator

**Main purpose of the job**:
- To provide effective, comprehensive, and efficient administrative support to the Accountant and assist with Vat, Salaries account transactions, and balancing of accounts
**Location**:
- **Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital - Soweto**
**Key performance areas**:
- Assist the accountant with capturing Vat entries where needed
- Prepare the monthly Vat distribution files and ensure it is uploaded
- Assist in tracking and identifying any issues and misallocations on the Vat GL’s
- Keep track of the Vat refunds and payments due to/from sites
- Timeous follow-ups as needed
- Gathering, collating, and preparing paperwork for Vat audits as needed
- Assist the accountant by processing reallocations of Salary control entries
- Prepare reconciliations of the salaries loans and monitor the movement
- Follow up with Payroll on any differences encountered
- Follow up and monitor the centralized salary recons
- Process journal entries for allocations of financials for the department
- Assist in compiling audit files for year-end audits
**Required minimum education and training**:
- **Diploma or degree in Finance**
**Required minimum work experience**:
- **Minimum 1 years financial experience**
**Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities**:
- Able to handle large volumes of work
- Experience in any accounting system is essential
- Good time management and effective self-management
- Must maintain confidentiality, tact, and discretion at all times
- Exceptional organizational and administrative skills are required
- Must have a confident personality
- Must be able to take initiative and independent decision making
- Stay abreast with current policies and procedures
