**Job Purpose**

The purpose of the Fundraising Manager role is to develop and implement a multi-faceted fundraising strategy resulting in the diversification of income streams and to work towards growing sustainable income streams for the Adopt-a-School Foundation.

**Fundraising**
- Implementation of a Fundraising Strategy which includes, corporate, international expansion, individuals, in-kind donations, trusts and foundations and strategic partnerships.
- Develop fundraising proposals and strategies for project and anchor funding, as well as resource mobilisation.
- Manage fundraising objectives for key events and initiatives.
- Prepare fundraising reports to Exco and Board, as well as other identified meetings.
- Develop operational budgets for all fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
- Develop new ideas for fundraising and identify suitable funding initiatives; including individual fundraising, membership fundraising, event fundraising, online fundraising, funding from trusts and foundations, corporate and project fundraising proposals, calls for proposals, identify investment opportunities to enhance income, identify and implement social enterprise initiatives, international fundraising etc.; manage the implementation, thereof, of the approved ideas.
- Develop fundraising board documents and presentations.
- Manage all risks associated with the Foundation’s Fundraising Strategy.
- Work collaboratively with the Communications Manager and Events Manager to successful implementation of Division initiatives.
- To research new potential partners. Gather information, set appointments, and undertake corporate presentations.
- To develop the foundation for the individual giving strategy
- To monitor progress against budget and reforecast income and expenditure as required.
- Track and analyse departmental fundraising results and provide reports.
- To ensure all fundraising regulations / legal requirements and are met and reflect best practice, particularly as these relate to fundraising standards and POPIA.
- To meet or exceed income goals and contribute towards the development and achievement of the organisational strategy.

**Stakeholder Engagement**
- To nurture and maintain existing corporate relationships, demonstrating the highest levels of customer care.
- Build effective donor partnerships through effective relationship management and donor management.
- Recruit operational and project donors.
- Donor Research and database development and management.

**Education,Skills, Knowledge and Experience**
- Relevant Degree or Qualification
- Minimum 3 years experience in corporate fundraising and fundraising in general including a successful track record of meeting and exceeding challenging targets and achieving year on year income growth.
- Previous experience in Public Relations, Media, Communications, awareness campaigns, media relations, stakeholder engagement and volunteer management.
- Significant experience of managing projects on time and on budget.
- Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines.
- Flexible approach with the ability to adapt to new and changing situations.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills.
- Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including strong presentation skills.
- Sensitivity and empathy in working with people.
- Willingness to travel.
- Driver’s Licence

- Report and proposal writing.
