The New loveLife Trust is an NGO that campaigns with nationwide community level outreach and supports programmes that promote healthy, HIV-free living among South African teens.

loveLife has reached unprecedented scale in implementing cutting-edge comprehensive and combined social behaviour change programming face-to-face with adolescents.

  • Generated revenue to enable the short, medium & long term mission & strategy of loveLife targets as defined annually as part of budgeting process.
  • Ensure there is an active & continuous pipeline of funding opportunities from grants & tenders both Nationally & Internationally that are aligned to and in the service of loveLife program offerings & strategy.
  • Ensure opportunities are continuously followed up and completed on time and on quality in line with loveLife business development policies & processes. Concept to Application to Cash in Bank.
  • The business development team have an active and accurate tracking and reporting system and funder database that informs the funding & revenue pipeline.
  • Ensure our stakeholders & funders receive quality reports & feedback as defined in their Service Level Agreement (SLA). Quality = accurate, relevant & timely.
  • Through collaboration with relevant loveLife staff our stakeholders & funders are kept informed through a combination of both formal and informal quality communication & reporting.
  • Ensure all sources of leads & new business & grant opportunities within loveLife are effectively coordinated across national and regional offices in line with business development policy & processes.
  • Contribute, engage and support actively the business development team operations, knowledge management and strategy.
  • Compliance with loveLife policies & processes.
  • Ensure that support is given with regard to the writing and editing of documents at both provincial and national level
  • Appropriate Tertiary qualification
  • Fluent and spoken English as well as quality public presentation skills.
  • Drivers licence and willingness to travel
  • 3 years related experience

  • Demonstrated record of success in generating significant commitments from grant & tender processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to take primary responsibility for diverse number of projects and to complete them in a timely manner with limited supervision.
  • Sound knowledge of the mechanics of fundraising through grants & tenders.
  • Ability to operate in a fast changing, high demand environment.
  • Ability to utilise limited resources to maximum effect
  • Demonstrated ability in proposal writing simplifying & packaging the offering/key message
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Advanced computer skills, e.g., word, PowerPoint presentation, Excel spread sheets, online software & multiple platforms as defined by funding source
  • Experience in donor management.
  • Basic understanding of SA CSI, BBBEE and legislative environment
  • Selfmotivation and discipline to regularly set and achieve work goals.
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal and networking skills with large groups as well as with individuals are essential;
  • Ability to initiate, build relationships and engage with potential funders & stakeholders.

Total remuneration package:
