Events Co-ordinator

A top tourist destination in Cape Town is looking for an Events Co-ordinator to complement their dynamic Conferencing and Events team. They need a well presented, motivated, creative thinker who has a keen interest in the tourism and hospitality sector and an eagerness to contribute to the overall success of one of Cape Town’s top tourist attractions.
Essential requirements are:
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Two years’ experience in the hospitality sales industry as an Events Co-Ordinator
- Valid driver’s license
- Proficiency in MS Office suite and hospitality booking systems
**Responsibilities**:
- Sales prospecting, customer relationship management, event planning and co-ordination, logistics oversight, revenue management and communications.
- Preparing proposals for clients and maintaining well-organised event records.
- Building and maintaining working relationships with internal and external partners and leveraging these relationships to deliver innovative and memorable events.
- Active participation in the hospitality and event planning industry.
- Conducting client meetings and facilitating site inspections.
- Identifying event logistics and negotiating contracts.
- Pro-actively communicate event information, setting clear expectations for event deliverables.
- Preparing detailed event reports, cost projections and other financial metrics.
- Analysing and reconciling event details and consolidating the information into actionable event
