At Livewell, we pride ourselves on providing specialised Dementia and Alzheimer’s care services, to our memory care residents. Our multidisciplinary healthcare team range from our own nursing team to our specialised support network of healthcare professionals. We are looking to hire a temporary Registered Nurse with experience in Geriatric Patients diagnosed with Dementia.

**Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities**

**Supervisory Duties, including but not limited to**:

- Building and training the best healthcare team.
- Be a leader to your healthcare team, who inspires and empowers the Livewell nursing team.
- On call as consultant to the other 3 shifts.
- Training the EN’s and the ENA’s on the other shifts.
- Assist EN’s and ENA’s when they require advice on medication or how to handle a behavioral situation.
- Human Resources: Manage the nursing team reporting to you, including Monthly Staff Training, Development and Education, Duty Rosters, Attendance Registers, Payroll calculations, Recruitment, Leave and Disciplinary Actions.
- Ensure that in-house training of all care providers and ENA’s in your Livewell are taking place as stipulated in the program.
- Taking responsibility and ensuring the staff duty roster is done correctly, including staff allocation as well as the allocation of extra shifts when needed.

**Nursing duties (as part of shift)**:

- Day-to-day training of Enrolled Nurse, ENA’s and care providers during your shift to ensure the best nursing practice.
- Ensure Care Provider allocations are in line with caring needs of residents and that care given by nursing team is of high standard.
- Wound care & Catheter care.
- Compiling reports for:Incidents

Resident Care operations
Hand-over on completion of shift and ensure files in nursing station are up to date.
WCA
Weekly reports (Daily Handover) to the Head of Healthcare
- Regular spot checks: Medicine charts; incident reports; resident care operations; neat working environment; clubhouse during activities and meals.
- Monthly observations, urinary testing, weight charts and blood pressure tests of all residents to be done the first week of the month.
- Ensure that medicine is administered correctly and chart in the medicine file;
- Sign-off on medication chart received from Enrolled Nurse on shift, before administration of medication by Enrolled Nurse, to residents.
- Implement and adhere to infection control measurements and protocols in handling medical wastage, bodily fluids, appropriate disposal thereof; and ensure that your team understands and adheres to these measurements.
- Test Vellux system.
- Equip the nursing station and report faulty equipment to the Facilities Supervisor and Head of Healthcare.
- Handling of hearing aids.
- On Night duty hourly checks on residents must be done.
- Double checks on blister packs.
- Notify resident family of need to make doctor’s appointment and proceed to make necessary doctor’s appointment (and/or complete referral letter if on night duty, and ensure it is handed over to the Healthcare Day Shift Leader to continue with finalising the appointment). Inform the Head of Healthcare
- Accompany residents to Doctor’s/specialist visits (mostly Day Shift).
- Report back to the resident’s family, Head of Healthcare and doctor’s/specialist visit.
- Train care providers to follow new protocols.
- Weekly checks on emergency trolley and first aid kit (to be done by night staff);
- Six monthly assessments on the residents and sign-off for other shifts with EN as shift leader.
- Six monthly script renewal.
- Report to Head of Healthcare when scripts need to be renewed and thereafter inform doctor or specialist when scripts need renewal.
- Ensure all Company Policies and Procedures are adhered to, including reporting any forms of Elderly Abuse.

**Assist new residents in settling into Livewell.**
- Ensure that all the new residents’ medication has been handed over properly and that we have received all the necessary healthcare reports and information required.
- Make an appointment with the relevant GP/specialist when a new resident is admitted, if there is no doctor’s report on record.
- Ensure that the integration program is implemented.

**Maintain healthy relationships with families of the residents living in the Livewell**
- Reporting relevant information to the families regarding the residents when the;
- Ensure written and verbal reports of a resident’s file is neat, clear, concise and accurate;
- Maintain and build healthy relationships with the families of the residents in your Livewell, building trust and confidence in the level of care, with compassion.

**Other duties, including but noted limited to**:

- Liaise with the Lifestyle team to improve residents’ quality of life;
- Quality of life brainstorms with multi-disciplinary teams;
- Quality of life meetings with families (mostly day shift, although night shift may be requested to attend and/or submit written
