Healthcare Manager

At Livewell we specialize in Dementia and Alzheimer's care. We are looking for an experienced Healthcare Manager to join our dynamic team.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Ensuring that all Healthcare Policies and Procedures are in place and that all other company policies are adhered to, up to date and that Healthcare staff complies with these policies, included but not limited to:
- Healthcare Manual
- Healthcare Induction Policy
- Healthcare Uniform Policy
Managing the Healthcare Shift Leaders, and ensuring completion of the following daily tasks, but not limited to:
- Attending Supervisor’s Morning Meetings and providing feedback to the Healthcare Teams
- Ensuring that debriefing sessions are being conducted to staff when a resident has passed away or when a serious incident has occurred
- Managing and approving the leave of Healthcare Shift leaders for day and night shifts
- Conducting performance appraisals and probation evaluations of the Healthcare Shift leaders
- Ensuring that the same quality Healthcare services are provided 24/7 at the Estate
- Ensuring that the Medical Equipment stock list is updated and sufficient
- Assisting with effective written and verbal communication to families and other healthcare professionals from the healthcare team
- Attending family meetings on behalf of the Healthcare Shift Leaders when they are not available
Ensuring that sufficient and qualified Healthcare staff is available at the Livewell Estates to ensure Quality of Services delivered:
- Assisting with recruitment of Senior Healthcare Staff
- Assisting with reference checks on healthcare staff with necessary qualifications
- Approving additional Healthcare appointments with motivation
- Assisting with Healthcare Disciplinary Actions
- Assisting with Performance Appraisals and Probation Evaluation of Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses
- Identifying training needs and assisting with providing training to the Registered Nurse and Enrolled Nurse
- Identifying and communicating training needs of Care Providers
Arranging and leading brainstorm sessions with Multi-Disciplinary Healthcare teams (RN, EN, ENA) to resolve:
- Medication challenges
- Resident behavioural changes
- Residents’ level of care
- Wound care progress
- Staff ratios and allocation
- Identification, development and implementation of new Healthcare Policies and Procedures
- Manage Healthcare Service Level Agreements (‘SLA’s)
- Health & Safety of residents and Livewell area
Conducting regular audits on all aspects of the Healthcare team, and providing, implementing and managing action plans to improve the results:
- Conducting weekly audits on Day and Night Shifts on Healthcare on compliance, staff management, resident management, medication management etc. Conducting Audits on the following (but not limited to):
- Monthly staff rosters, staff allocation, staff attendance records and staff ratios
- Leave Management of Healthcare Team
- Compliance and registration of Healthcare staff
- Payroll Calculations and valid supporting documentation provided for Healthcare Team
- Medication Management and distribution
- Recordkeeping and Resident Files
- Incidents: Reporting and Protocol
- Quality Control on:
- Communication to Healthcare team,
- Proper handover process between shifts,
- Communication to professionals, and
- Communication to families.
- Resident body and vital checks
**Reporting to the Operations Manager on**:
- Outcome of Audits conducted at Estate;
- Action Plans and progress thereof to improve Healthcare within the Group;
- Outstanding, Work in Progress and completed Policies and Procedures;
- Equipment outstanding / required;
- Potential risk areas of concern;
- Allocations and restrictions on staff;
- Any changes in Legislation regarding Healthcare;
- Performance of Senior Nursing staff (Registered Nurse and Enrolled Nurse);
- Investigate and provide clinical report on any incidents.
**Budgets, Stock Control, Reports & Assets**
⮚ Overseeing and managing the monthly and yearly budget, in consultation with the Estate Manager, and give adequate report back to Estate Manager
⮚ Regular reporting to the Estate Manager, as and when required and instructed
⮚ Attending to Urgent Payment requests and regular liaising with Finance Department on payments
⮚ Liaising with and source suppliers to obtain best quotes and price on products
⮚ Weekly reporting to all departments on the job card system and status of job cards
⮚ Managing the movements of assets as well as disposal of any assets; and upkeep of the asset register in respect of Maintenance and Garden assets, in close liaison with the Office Supervisor
⮚ Overseeing and managing the maintenance of any assets e.g. the garden furniture
⮚ Conducting a stock count at the end of the financial year and provide feedback to the Finance Department
⮚ Taking responsibility for all policies and procedures in your Department, ensuring it is drafted, updated
