Duties/Pligte

Providing secretarial duties to the Unit which include the following:

- Typing;
- Handling telephonic enquiries and calls;
- Diary management;
- Taking of minutes;
- Reserving facilities for lectures;
- Making travel and accommodation arrangements, including registrations for conferences, workshops, etc.;
- Performing administration related to teaching matters;
- Financial administration of the Division's cost points;
- Ensuring compliance to the University's financial policy;
- Making purchases on Stellenbosch University's financial system;
- Preparing journal requests;
- Invoicing of income;
- Maintaining annual inventory;
- Registering research outputs on the RA system;
- Handling IT requests;
- Coordinating workshops, functions and meetings;
- Liaising with other Departments/Divisions and universities.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- Secretarial qualification with at least two years' applicable experience, **_OR _**in the case of no formal qualification, a minimum of four years' applicable experience;
- Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook);
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- A strong client orientation and effective organisational skills;
- Effective verbal, written and reading communication skills) in English;
- The ability to think ahead, to work independently and to display initiative.
