**Purpose of the Job**:
To lead and manage the optimization of the promotion’s strategy execution and facilitate advancement of systems and processes to support categories and enable profitable sales growth so as to ensure effective execution of integrated trade plans, sales and volume growth and that profit opportunities are identified, implemented and maximized.

**What you’ll have done before**:

- Baseline:
- 8 years’ experience in Sales Development & Trade Planning
- Experience on reporting and analytical tools
- Experience in managing and reporting on effectiveness of promotional and sales activities
- NFQ Level 7 (Degree in Sales/ Business or related)
- Advantageous:
- Food retail planning work experience
- Experience in working cross functionally in a leadership capacity

- TRADE PLANNING MANAGEMENT- Drive input in development of long-term tactical plans, future trade calendar and critical path advancements and customer research and analytics
- Analyse and interpret data per Category to provide strategic direction, development of trade plan & budgets and customer data and analytics to make relevant decisions
- Develop store execution plans for promotion strategy in terms of assortment and space planning to maximize trading opportunities
- Develop new stores and modernization plan and ensure tracking from opening to ensure operational effectiveness
- Assist the business with optimizing profitability through effective management of promotional activities, analysis and reporting to influence and recommend strategic direction and profitability

BUSINESS OPERATIONS & DATA MANAGEMENT- Assume full responsibility for promotion data in SAP Retail by collecting, verifying, and processing requests from Category Management in the Foodvenience Department
- Ensure accuracy and timeous update of data for Promotions to ensure campaigns are successfully executed at Retail Sites
- Perform comprehensive testing of promotions in SAP Retail and the Winbranch Test System in accordance with a checklist to prevent erroneous data and rework.
- Liaise with Category Management and Technical Support to address corrective action that may be required in promotion’s data
- Maintain a register to track and monitor the status of Promotions from creation to enablement at Retail sites for each Promotion period.
- Perform regular updates of category and product master data in the system to enable optimal testing of new promotions

**What you’ll be doing**:

- CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT AND REPORTING- Provide proactive and advance promotional analysis through evaluating, analysing & recording promotional performance
- Ensure accurate monthly trade and promotional activity and monitor competitor pricing
- Build reports that enable broader retail team to make informed decisions with correct data information
- Work closely and in alignment with development & IT in optimising and automating reports, system and processes and manage all changes effectively
- Analyse sales data received from Retail sites for Promotions and report lost opportunity arising from the late acceptance of Promotions at Retail sites. Initiate corrective action with stakeholders to ensure promotion data is processed more timeously.
- Produce monthly reports to assess the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of data for each promotion period.
- Ensure the continuous enhancement of checklists, processes, systems, and data that is used to manage promotion data through use of both formal and informal methods
- Ensure performance improvement initiatives are tracked and sustained
- Constantly expand knowledge and skills in SAP Retail to identify opportunities to improve the management of promotion data

STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT & CUSTOMER INSIGHTS- Drive site execution with RSOM’s and Area Managers
- Collaborate with Category Management team to ensure proactive and optimal management of promotion data
- Support with the management of sales data exception errors that may result from promotion data anomalies
- Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure category and product master data in SAP Retail is aligned with the needs of promotional campaigns.
- Share systems knowledge and expertise with stakeholders to improve institutional knowledge and understanding of promotion data management
- Develop and communicate directional market insights and manage service providers to enable effective market reporting and analytics
