**Position Summary**:
With limited supervision plan, advise strategically, direct, control the planning, procurement and related administrative functions of the business and hold responsibility for analyzing product demand, plans the delivery of components to meet production or customer demand, issues and maintains purchase orders for appropriate quantities, communicates with suppliers to ensure product quality, delivery and cost requirements are met.

The position highly impacts on the efficiency and smooth workflow of the daily operations. The holder of this position is independent in carrying out assigned tasks and is encouraged to practice continuous self-training on company policies and quality procedures, have the knowledge and confidence to identify areas for improvement and with limited oversight develop solutions to achieve our goals

**What will you do?**
- Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets
- Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations, supports continuous improvement and business improvements initiatives.
- Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities
- Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organisation
- Provide analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activities
- Prepare reports and updates as and when required
- Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods
- Prepare and raise purchase orders and order schedules
- Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications
- Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships
- Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures during supplier negotiations and contracts award process.
- Assess and evaluate suppliers and contribute to performance reviews to ensure contract compliance
- Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues

**How will you get here? Education**
- Matric/Grade 12.
- Completed or studding Bcom, Certificate or Diploma in related field,
- Combined proven minimum of 3+ years’ experience in related field
- 6 Sigma or similar certification will be beneficial

**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**:

- Experience in multiple operational areas, i.e. purchasing, logistics, customer service, production
- Knowledge of, inventory projections, shortage / excess / obsolete management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- A hands-on individual who can operate independently and with minimum supervision
- Critical thinker with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal, skills, Self-starter; ability to be productive with limited oversight
- Ability to multi-task and lead concurrent projects with high levels of complexity
- Ability to, work independently communicate optimally at all levels and articulate ideas, analyze results, and make practical recommendations
- Flexible and adaptable, with strong orientation skills. Ability to work under pressure and to support others within the team.
- Good communication skills both internally and externally.
