**Group HR Generalist - People Business Partner**

There has never been a better time to join and help Move Science Forward This role is instrumental in delivering people strategy and partnering with the regional business teams to deliver company objectives as well as being the trusted advisor, consultant and expert on local employment legislation and practice. The role can be either fully based in our Johannesburg office or hybrid with some days worked from home. There may be the requirement to travel to other locations on occasion.

**Purpose**

Reporting to the EMEA HR Manager and partnering with the EMEA Regional Director and local Senior Managers, the main purpose of the role is to shape and influence positive people experience through supporting on the delivery of key strategic projects and People operational activities covering the entire employment lifecycle. This role will be a trusted partner and consultant, demonstrating understanding of the functional and business realities, addressing complex people-related challenges, providing ideas, insights, flexible and innovative solutions, risk analyses, and challenge, to shape and inform longer term strategic and operational problem-solving. The role will partner with all people managers to guide and support using and instilling a coaching approach to leadership as well as working hand in hand with the Global HR function.

**Responsibilities**
- As part of the Global People function, support delivering on the people strategy for the Company. (Think Global, Act Local).
- Take accountability for specific People actions required in region, reporting on progress and success measures.
- Support as needed the design and delivery of the people strategy in line with corporate objectives and that enhances employee motivation, development, and performance;
- Support the process and delivery of key HR projects, current examples include work force planning, learning & development, talent, and succession planning and corporate social responsibility;
- Maintain and manage relationships with third party suppliers e.g. recruitment specialists, lawyers, and consultants; Business Partnering
- Lead the delivery of a full range of operational People activities, providing expert guidance and support and building strong working relationships with managers to ensure they act fairly and consistently to achieve the best outcomes for the business;
- Drive and support a coaching culture, playing an exemplary role in people management practice and building strong networks within and beyond the company.
- Work with the HR Manager and Chief People Officer to proactively develop, implement, and maintain People policies and processes that foster harmonious employee relations reinforcing and support our culture and values;
- Review and evaluate people experience activities to ensure best practice and innovation, and drive improvements through collaboration;
- Leverage evidence-based data analytics and other sources of intelligence to produce credible insights and recommendations to align people experience agenda with operational principles for the business;
- Participate in Management Group meetings.
- Support and lead the delivery of local management updates and training on aspects of People Experience such as performance management, salary review, recruitment, any relevant changes to employment law or practice.
- Support the Talent Acquisition Team and managers to deliver the recruitment process successfully and ensure we can fill roles on a timely basis;
- Manage all Employee Relations matters for the relevant regions, adhering to legislation and in line with company values; Employee Experience
- Support on business change initiatives and associated employee consultation and focus groups;
- Provide a visible and proactive People service to the business, acting as an internal go-to and sounding board on people-related topics for employees at all levels;
- Provide support to other global offices as required, including supporting work required to set up new offices and new country entities;
- Oversee remuneration and employment benefits provision in Region, working as needed with local brokers on the set up and ongoing management of benefits as required;
