-The Faculty of Humanities seeks a Blended/ Online Learning Coordinator who will report to the Assistant Deans of the Faculty and work closely with senior leaders, academics and teaching and learning/blended learning specialists in the Faculty and university to help establish a clear pedagogical vision and strategy for blended and online learning initiatives.

The Blended/ Online Learning Coordinator will be responsible for collaborating with schools, departments, and staff across the Faculty to establish structures for the implementation of high-quality and sustainable blended and online programmes and courses. The Blended/ Online Learning Coordinator will help to develop and implement strategies that are scalable and financially sustainable as the faculty advances blended and online offerings in both degree and non-degree spaces.

This will be a permanent post.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- In consultation with key stakeholders, assist in the development of a comprehensive Blended and Online Learning strategy and vision.
- Drive and oversee the evolution of the Faculty’s online and blended pedagogy, methodology and course production standards.
- Consolidate staff development for blended and online learning in the Faculty Teaching and Learning Unit.
- Build on and redesign blended and online courses developed during Emergency Remote Teaching.
- Identify opportunities and courses for transitioning or expanding from contact to blended and online learning
- Work with the Staff Development Coordinator with the tutor training and academic intern training programmes.
- Participate in the institutional committee for identifying an online evaluation system.
- Assist staff to evaluate courses using the online evaluation system, develop teaching and teaching portfolios for the faculty staffing and promotion committees and teaching and learning awards.
- Provide teaching staff with training in the use of the LMS Ulwazi and blended pedagogical strategies that are suited to the Humanities context and resources.
- Oversee the end-to-end course and programme development, the overall accreditation processes.
- Work with the LMS service provider, and ICT support to resolve any issues with performance of the LMS, staff and student access or blended course delivery.
- Teach / supervise at undergraduate or postgraduate level in own disciplinary field and in Higher Education courses.
- Engage in academic research and publish in areas of higher education, blended learning, staff evaluation and educational technologies.

**Preference is given to people with a track record of**:

- working with academics at all levels of a HE institution
- implementing innovative and time pressured solutions to emergent problems
- developing strategic plans
- managing a support team/staff
- SOTL project involvement
- Advanced LMS skills including basic html coding
- Postgraduate research supervision experience

**Qualifications and experience**:

- PhD from a humanities discipline
- At least 5 years of experience in online or blended teaching & learning methodologies.
- Experience in academic course coordination and curriculum development.
- Experience in staff development course design processes and implementation.
- Experience in academic programme and course accreditation processes.
- Experience in course evaluation and review processes.
- Experience with learning management systems like Canvas and teaching staff to use such tools
- Good interpersonal, people management, communication and presentation skills
