**Legal Professional**:
**Minimum Requirements**:

- LLB Degree, admitted as an attorney (advantageous)
- Ability to speak, write and understand two official African languages, one of which English should be one, ability to speak, write and understand Afrikaans will be advantageous
- Excellent communication skills, initiative and computer literate.
- Able to work with little to no supervision, positive and motivated individual
- Excellent drafting and administrative skills
- Be able to work in a stressful environment and situations

**Responsibilities**:
(Duties are set out below but are not limited to same)
- Assisting policyholders with matters which fall within the ambit of the Consumer Protection Act
- Liaising with various institutions and Ombudsmans to resolve disputes between policyholders and third parties where a consumer relationship exists
- Assisting policyholders with letters of demand should their disputes not be resolved via mediation
- Providing regular progress reports and/ or feedback to policyholders on their pending files at least twice a month or as often as the legal matter dictates
- Keeping of comprehensive and complete legal case files with regular entries and notes as prescribed by the Legal Professional Guidebook
- Providing policy holders with legal opinions, whether written or telephonically
- Assisting policy holders with other legal matters assigned to the Consumer Protection Department which are civil in nature
