**_ Position Purpose:_**

To manage and provide leadership to the Revolving Maintenance Department (RMD) team at the regional level.

Organize a motivated and effective RMD cluster lead team

To reduce the cost of breakdowns and improve the response times to breakdowns.

To develop the technical artisan competencies in the RMD

To contribute to the development of the asset register

To generate reliable, adequate maintenance and related cost information for the purpose of maintenance forecasting and

budgeting

To improve the life span of assets (Asset life cycle management ) and the general hygiene in Transnet facilities.

Design and implement systems and processes to ensure that there is compliance and monitoring thereof to the statutory

requirements including OHS Act compliance within the assigned region.

Ensure that the certification to compliance as required by legislation is adhered to.

To implement the spares inventory management strategy, ensure that there are correct spares, tools of trade.

To ensure that the resource allocation for the region and the clusters meet the demand requirement.

To run the quality assurance programme for the region.

Support the implementation of the Facilities Management Strategy at the region and ensure alignment to the objectives of

TRANSNET

To ensure that the deployed fleet is utilized, safely, optimally, and efficiently to support business objectives.

Manage relationships with Operating divisions TP has signed Service Level agreements with.

**_ Position outputs:_**

Provides tactical planning to the cluster lead with regards manning, planning and compliance to the applicable facilities

standards including applicable SANS codes.

Conduct regions/business facilities need analysis and support the solutions provided such as canteen services, staff facilities,

parking allocation, park homes, etc.

Manage space requirements and rationalization of space at the regions/business and ensure all employees are provided with

the appropriate space to conduct work duties in line with the business needs.

Oversees the scheduling, maintenance, and monitoring of all heating, ventilating air conditioning (H-VAC system), water,

electricity, and other systems to ensure efficient operations.

Manage and execute the maintenance services including Hygiene, maintenance, cleaning, common areas, garden services,

etc. to ensure all required services at the regions/business are rendered efficiently and effectively.

Assist input to the development of the Facilities Management budget to ensure expenditure is in line with the

regions/business’s requirements.
Manage basic Health & Safety Act in the regions/business-occupied buildings. This includes ensuring inspections are carried

out timeously, audit reports are drafted and mitigating actions are implemented where non-compliance is identified, attended

to, and closed.

Source alternate accommodation for regions/business employees during renovations and in case of emergence.

Plan and organize the relocation of departments (furniture removal, insurance, etc.).

Prepare applicable documentation i.e., Invoices, Work orders etc. And liaise with relevant departments.

Maintain boundary walls parameters and structures including security boots/ park homes and gates

Arrange for corporate signage on regions/business’s buildings/property.
Identify services, prepare the scope, and assign the relevant resources such as plumbers, electricians, furniture suppliers,

network technicians, lift specialists, mechanical technicians, etc

Arrange the procurement of furniture, facilities fittings, and related work equipment to ensure that all employees within the

regions/business are provided with a facility that supports them to perform their duties.

Develop a facilities maintenance plan and manage the activities in line with that develop a yearly facilities maintenance

budget
