**_ Position Purpose:_**

Responsible for the efficient and effective administration of Transnet Properties’ facilities/property’s management,
maintenance, and coordination of external service providers, which includes the management of all relevant portfolio SLA’s,
for service providers rendering services to the portfolio and interfacing with the departments to provide support for facilities

management. Ensure that portfolio buildings and infrastructure are maintained in respect to all plumbing, painting and

electrical services including the air conditioning plants and conform to the building regulatory requirements. Manage the office

accommodation needs of all Transnet operational division

**_ Position outputs:_**

Facilities Management

Supervise all in-house and outside vendors/contractors for all building operation and maintenance services.

Provide facilities and engineering leadership and direction for all internal stakeholders of Transnet Properties (i.e., Transnet

Freight Rail, Transnet Port Terminals, Transnet National Port Authority, etc.)

Work closely with other internal departments to develop strategic plans to impact the operational efficiency and financial

performance of the operational and investment property.

Plan, design, and implement facility requirements for construction, equipment relocation and installation, office

rearrangements and additions.

Plan, guide, lead and implement negotiated services, supervised activities of and monitored vendors in performing

construction, scheduled, corrective, and preventive maintenance at all facilities.

Provide leadership, management, and support to the Roving Maintenance Department (RMD) to ensure effective execution

of all day-to-day maintenance of the Transnet Property Portfolio, including the management of all emergency, and long-term

maintenance activities for all regional sites providing timely, reliable, cost-effective technology.

Ensure that all Transnet Properties are maintained by conducting regular floor inspections to identify maintenance issues and

ensure all security systems remain operational.

Develop new opportunities with other business units to improve Transnet Properties portfolio cost structures and service

delivery for adequate end-to-end facilities management.

Lead and conduct all safety drills, develop, and communicate emergency preparedness information.

Ensure that off-hours emergency response and scheduled changes to critical equipment are carried out.

Conduct and organize periodic safety audits and quarterly emergency drills.

Direct several projects with cross-functional teams of constructive, real estate, operations, data, voice, facilities, and furniture.

Facilitate real estate requests for office renovations, expansion, relocation, and development.

Develop cost modelled real estate requirements for new business proposals.

Facilities Engineering

Charge and lead all asset and infrastructural lifecycle management and establish, plan, and manage all budgetary

implications thereof.

Provide leadership and direction for all facilities engineering, site facilities maintenance etc. for all Transnet Property Portfolio.

Manage all Facilities Engineering activities and continue to implement major cost savings projects as well as major

renovation projects.

Project Management

Handle the total project management value chain including cost/schedule scope/quality control/permitting/documentation.

Recruitment and/or input advice of all operating staff servicing the facilities management department.

Recommend and oversee all established training programs relating to the upskilling and development of facilities personnel

regarding quality levels exceeding corporate and project management expectations.

Develop training presentations for staff and facility occupants to increase productivity, promote safety and enhance customer

relations and customer involvement.
