Deputy Director: Strategic Management Support

**Job Purpose**: Provincial Treasury, Western Cape aims to employ a suitably qualified and competent individual to facilitate transversal departmental Strategic Management processes and manage staff. This post is stationed in Cape Town.
**Minimum Requirements**: An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/B-Degree); A minimum of 3 years management experience in strategic management environment or related.
**Recommendation**: None.
**Key Performance Areas**: Proactively facilitate the Department’s multi-term annual planning cycle in close collaboration with the CFO; Proactively facilitate departmental Batho Pele/service delivery improvement initiatives; Champion the entrenchment of performance monitoring, evaluation and reporting in the normal management processes of the Department’s line and staff function components; Proactively facilitate organisational performance monitoring and reporting as per departmental strategic and annual performance plans; Proactively facilitate programme and project performance monitoring and reporting as per Provincial Strategic Goals (PSG's) and other requirements; Coordinate policy and strategy impact assessments in conjunction with line functionaries; Supervise staff, manage workloads and day-to-day workflow; mentor, coach and do staff appraisals.
**Competencies**: Knowledge of government’s strategic planning, monitoring, reporting and BizProjects processes; Analytical and strategic thinking; Policy analysis and interpretive skills; Communication (written and verbal) skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape; Proven computer literacy; Planning and organising skills; People Management.
**Remuneration**:
All-inclusive salary package of R 811 560 per annum (Salary Level 11) Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees' service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
