**Job Overview
- The job purpose of a Head of Digital, Data and Business Intelligence is to strategically lead and oversee the organization's digital transformation initiatives. This involves harnessing data-driven insights, implementing advanced analytics, and optimizing business processes to enhance efficiency.- The role encompasses shaping a cohesive digital strategy, ensuring effective data management, fostering innovation through business intelligence, and driving automation initiatives to achieve operational excellence and competitive advantage.This role may be based in Cape Town (Bellville) or Johannesburg (Sandton).**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE**:
**Digital Strategy and Transformation**
- Develop and execute a comprehensive digital strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Lead digital transformation initiatives to enhance the organization's digital presence and customer experience.
- Establishes and implement a contemporary digital organisational capable of meeting a continuously changing industry and market environment to drive Santam’s digital transformation.
- Map digital capabilities to strategic priorities.
- Partner with business and IT leaders to drive digital business needs.
- Provides leadership and hands-on technical direction to deliver world class customer experiences.
- Responsible for actual deployment of digital solutions in partnership with line of business executives.
- Monitoring of diverse digital initiatives is critical, and thus the creating of a data warehouse of information pertain to digital activities and behaviours is a vital requirement.
- Develop futuristic of digital architecture and convergence with SGT, Sanlam FinTech with Santam 3.0

**Data Management**
- Maintain an end-to-end data strategy and roadmap, spanning from data acquisition, data integration, processing, management and usage for Santam Group
- Establish the strategic direction for Santam data management and how data is to use in a daily basis in the operational environment of the Group
- Optimise business approach to using data both internally and externally
- Act as the primary data interface between within Santam Group
- Provide thought leadership and introduce best practices on data management
- Improve how the organisation collects, stores, uses, manages, and publishes data.
- Lead efforts to track databases, physical data models and linkages between datasets across the next Group.
- Oversee the establishment of an effective Data Governance discipline across Santam Group in accordance with best practice data management frameworks.
- Collaborate with the key business stakeholders to ensure compliance to applicable legislation and Data Governance policies.
- Oversee cross-functional efforts to improve data quality and security and promote strategic leveraging of data as a business asset.
- Manages all aspects of data acquisition.
- Analyse and provide input on new data sources and recommend improvements to existing data and identify trends in information usage.
- Assist in the design, development, and implementation of activities that collect, manage, and distribute data.
- Identify and address issues that prohibit data access and data flow.
- Lead the data support team to deliver an effective, professional service for Santam Group.
- Lead the adoption of agile data management support processes and technologies including transitioning to Cloud based solutions.
- Inter Group Co-operation on data sharing principles and governance.
- Lead the development and implementation of BI strategies to provide actionable insights for decision-making.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define BI requirements and ensure the delivery of relevant and timely analytics.

**Team Leadership**
- Build and lead a high-performing and engaged team across digital, automation, data management, and BI functions.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology with a strong background technical design/development.
- Data Science qualification an advantage
- Digital strategy qualification also advantageous
- 10 years of experience in delivering solutions within the ambit of this role scope.
- 10+ years business experience managing technical teams, financial services experience would be advantageous.
- 5-8 years’ experience operating within an international business landscape.
- Reasonable experience of digital marketing, web design, mobile or interactive media across group companies. 5-10 years
- 6-10 years’ delivery of diverse digital products in and outside South Africa.
- 10 years’ senior leadership experience with the ability to lead agile scrum teams.
- Proven experience in growing revenue.
- Proven experience in complex and large transactions.
- Experience in cloud computing (SaaS/PaaS).
- Experience in continuous integration/continuous delivery
