**Job Specifications - Bid Manager**
Our organisation specialising in the Civil Engineering; Facilities Management; Security and Human Capital economic spaces seeks to appoint a Bid Specialist who will be responsible for managing the tender submission process as well as correlating and writing of bids. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the incumbent will be tasked with creating solutions and developing strategies while complying with customer requirements in order to achieve their ultimate goal of securing a winning bid.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Overseeing all aspects of proposal preparation, ensuring quality, compelling bids are submitted in a timely manner.
- Analysing and reviewing the tender documents to understand customer requirements to ensure that they are met in the proposal.
- Collaborating with a wide variety of involved parties to include all necessary information within proposals.
- Planning bid preparation to ensure that deadlines are met
- Identifying opportunities for bid submissions as well as conducting research, writing and editing proposals, negotiating with stakeholders, and collaborating with other team members to ensure bid security.
- Compiling persuasive and detailed proposals.
- Performing risk assessments and addressing concerns of clients and company staff.
- Ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Liaising with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Keeping track of all costs and managing budgets.
- Working closely with project managers, estimators and senior personnel.
- Completing assessments and reports on all surbodinates.
- Conducting team briefings once bids have been secured.
**Qualifications; Skills and Experience**
- Tertiary qualification in engineering, construction, or another relevant discipline.
- 8 - 10 years of experience as a bid manager.
- Ability to write effective proposals while adhering to budgetary and time constraints.
- Demonstrable sound understanding of pricing and the industry as a whole.
- Ability to communicate and negotiate with a range of stakeholders.
- Excellent industry knowledge and a willingness to keep up with trends.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal abilities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Deadline-driven and committed to excellence.
