The Sales Manager will take a leadership role to develop, direct and manage all Flow Controls sales, service, and educational services activities within the ESKOM Coal Fired Fleet, Ambatovy Minerals, and East Africa Territory as part of the South-East African Region of Emerson Automation Solutions, MEA. The Sales Manager will also take the lead as Product Specialist responsible for the Gate, Globe, and Check valve portfolio included in the SEMPELL product portfolio. This is a critical role combining technical expertise with sales skills in a high-profile differentiation market - resulting in an impactful position. This role reports to the Regional Sales Leader Flow Controls - South, Southern & East Africa Region.

Additionally, the Sales Manager will also lead business development activities within the respective Channel Partners across the sales territory to expand the Flow Controls Installed Base. These initiatives include managing of STO’s and the KOB3 business development initiatives such as competitive displacements, obsolescence management, and Severe Service Solution sales.

The Sales Manager will also be responsible for the pursuit of KOB1, KOB2, Greenfield, and Brownfield projects managed by EPCs and End Users across the South African territory. Pre-Feed specification and product influencing in favor of the FCV portfolio.

**Your role responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following**:

- Lead Flow Controls Business Unit for solutions, products, and services sales & business development initiatives within ESKOM Coal Fired PP Fleet - Budget Allocation $3,500K.
- Develop and implement plans for the growth of SEMPELL GGC product portfolio and new product launch across SEA - Budget Allocation $2,500K
- Meet or exceed territory financial objectives (budget, POR, etc.) as required in support of the Flow Controls MEA business plan
- KOB1, KOB2 Project Pursuit - $2,000M
- Connected Services part of Digital Valve Services. Understand the market through sales insights, market research, and competitive analysis and collaborate across Emerson BU’s
- Direct, Develop, Collaborate with, and support sales representatives in the responsible countries
- Develop and implement sales and service strategies for the countries.
- Develop and implement plans to drive and grow KOB3 business and maximize revenue and profit from the existing installed base
- Prepare implementation plans to migrate traditional analog positioners, P/P & I/P by Emerson and competition with the latest Fisher Digital technology aligned with end-user digitization and digitalization roadmap
- Prepare and present marketing forecasts, pricing surveys, competitor intelligence, and country marketing plans
- Take a pro-active role in working with the Valves Global Project Pursuit Team and local sales representative to identify, qualify and pursue valves projects to achieve order conversion and maximize the potential for valves Business Unit and all Emerson Automation Solutions products and services
- Develop long-term relationships with senior management within customer accounts to ensure awareness of the capabilities of the Valves Business Unit and Emerson Automation Solutions.
- Improve customer satisfaction by finding solutions to their needs
- Keep up to date with developments in products, industries, and market trends.
- Ensure Emerson Ethics and trade compliance procedures are strictly followed with all business transactions
- Align closely with regional sales leader and global project pursuit entity and destination project execution in the SEA region
- Keep up to date with developments in products, industry, and market trends.

**What do I need to be considered for this role?**
- A minimum of 10-12 years of sales/sales channel management experience in the valve industry/process control Industry
- Educated to degree level in an engineering discipline
- Minimum of 10 Years experience in Control Valve Sizing & Selection
- 3-5 Years of Project Pursuit experience
- Track record of achieving sales targets and growing territory above-market growth
- Ability to consistently deliver profitable sales growth
- Application experience in Hydrocarbon, Mining, Chemical, and Power industries will be advantageous
