**JOB TITLE**: OPERATIONAL PURCHASING SPECIALIST

We are seeking an Operational Purchasing Specialist to join our Pumps Sourcing & Procurement team. You will be responsible for co-ordinating and controlling the placement of orders for materials at the correct prices and delivery requirements; liaising between suppliers, the pump operational planning department and the project teams as required.

In this position, you will report to the Pumps Sourcing and Procurement Manager.

This position is mainly located in Alrode, Gauteng.

TEAM YOU BELONG TO

You will join the Operations Pumps Division as it strives to effectively deliver a seamless experience, that delivers a solution that meets the customers needs.

You will work closely with internal // external stakeholders, such as Management, Suppliers, Sub-Contractors, Clients, Site Staff, Supply and Sales Team, teamwork between Metso’s departments including Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Warehouse, Foundries and Suppliers.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Adhere to all safety rules and regulations and maintain good housekeeping standards
Purchasing of parts for stock, spares for sales and spares for production plants as required by the SAP MRP report
Processing all purchase requisitions against allocated purchasing group on direct and/or indirect purchases
Weekly supplier site visits
Expedite critical past due purchase orders and future due orders daily
Update purchase orders with correct due dates, quantities, etc. daily
Communicate order status to all relevant dependent departments when changes occur
Assist in the resolving of accounts and stock queries
Generating weekly expediting report or arrange for auto every angle expediting report
Attending regular expediting meetings with key suppliers and expediting air and sea freight with the logistic department
Retain all relevant correspondence by e-filing or hard copies and attach relevant info on SAP
Issue weekly expediting report to suppliers
Use SAP/EA reporting modules to evaluate procurement functions
Assist with any queries from suppliers
Generate monthly QD performance reports and communicate with individual suppliers
Use available tools to request drawings to be issued to suppliers as requested, by prescribed method and submitting to drawing office for issue
Arranges for outside inspections by liaising with relevant quality department
Ensuring Defect Report procedures are correctly actioned
Take immediate action on non-conformance reports and Engineering change notices
Report on vendor performance and reliability and attend weekly performance and supplier development meetings where applicable
Perform other daily duties as may be reasonably requested and competent to do so

WHO YOU ARE

Matric (Grade 12)
Purchasing Qualification - Preferred
± 3 years buying and expediting experience within an engineering environment.
Word and Excel (advanced) proficiency is required and SAP literate

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 15kg

Use of keyboards, telephones, copiers and fax machine; climbing of stairs
