Franchise Area Manager

Role Overview
- Be the main point of contact of the franchisee and drive a successful and mutually beneficial ULTRA-franchisee relationship.
- Drive growth in the region by coordinating franchisees, establishing goals, and advising on franchisee development.
- Responsible in driving compliance, implementing national strategies to drive behaviour and implementation.
- Managing franchisees and the execution of promotional activities of the franchise business (negotiations driven by corporate).
- Managing franchisee and supplier disputes, responsible for franchisee behaviour management.
- Acquisition of franchisees in their Area.
- Facilitate Franchise Roll out.
Key Responsibilities
- Function as an ambassador of ULTRA, developing and sustaining effective relationships with franchisees.
- Be the key interface between head office Buyer supplier negotiations and franchisee network.
- Drives development in the franchisee’s store. This is achieved through improvement and mentorship initiatives such as wine/whiskey education, obtaining distribution licenses, opportunity identification, planogram and store layout advice, route planning, customer profitability analysis etc.
- Resolve on-the-ground customer complaints regarding service.
- Drives pricing compliance through franchisee education
- Drives visibility compliance
- Advise the store owner on upliftment initiatives.
- Assists in the identification and screening of new franchisees.
- Is a point of contact between external service providers and ULTRA.
- Confer with potential customers regarding their needs and build sustainable relationships.
- Assist in establishing long-range sales objectives in the responsible region and the strategies to achieve them.
- Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information in the region from all relevant sources including information on competitors
- Consult with compliance and marketing lead to plan and execute promotional activities. Deliver trade marketing merchandise if required.
- Encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation between ULTRA and franchisee
- Develops the region driving ULTRA’s success through all the above. Achieves market growth in the region through acquiring new franchisees and growing the existing franchisees’ businesses.
- Encourages and advises franchisee on entrepreneurial activities.
- Identifying opportunities for ULTRA to extract maximum benefit from suppliers.
- Assist in the acquisition, relationship development and performance evaluations of franchisees.
- Monitor adherence levels of franchisees about pricing and visibility compliance.
- Responsible for corrective actions in rectifying franchisee non-compliance
- Ensure consistency in ULTRA advertising material and store execution working in conjunction with area support team.
- Provide market research studies and analyse their findings to continually offer the best product.
- Interacts with key stakeholders in the region (including supplier area managers and reps) to develop mutually beneficial relationships.
- Conduct Franchisee AUDITS
Key Interfaces/Reporting Lines
- Reports to: Franchise Managing Director
- Key external interfaces: Franchisees, supplier area managers, supplier area reps, service providers, customers.
- Key internal interfaces: Franchise Managing Director and Franchise Team.
Qualifications, Requirements and Skills
- A Degree or Diploma in Sales and/or Marketing.
- At least 5 years proven experience in Franchise Management or a related field.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Must stay or be willing to re-locate to the respective Franchise Areas: Namely Central and Country.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Understanding of business operations and financial management.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships.
- Computer literacy (Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc)
- Professionalism and Punctuality.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Valid SA Driver’s License
- Must be willing to travel long distances and sleep out when necessary.
Remuneration Package: Market related package
This is a permanent position based at the Johannesburg office - Parkview. (To start as soon as possible)
