**Job Purpose**

To grow the Transactional Services franchise by providing transactional business solutions, through identifying, originating, assessing and developing deal flow to assist clients (existing and to be developed) in managing their transactional banking requirements, in line with Nedbank Corporate Investment Banking and Nedbank Group’s strategy. Managing client relationships within a given sector, with responsibility to deliver the transactional banking franchise through assessment of client requirements, pricing, legal and credit (as relevant) through the negotiation and execution of transactions.

**Responsibilities**:

- Meet the needs of the existing (and new) client base though a sector specialist sales approach by increasing the transactional banking penetration and share of wallet.
- Build relationships with external clients by conducting client visits to understand client's needs and business, and by facilitating efficient onboarding and after sales service.
- Ensure the Financial metrics are met/exceeded and drive a high-performance culture.
- Ensure growth in transactional banking by the identification of opportunities that are profitable and meet bank's financial targets.
- Retain existing clients by partnering with internal customer support and service teams to ensure that client’s needs and expectations are met.
- Active participation in Client Service Teams (CSTs) and enhancement of credibility by staying abreast of sector and client initiatives that change on an ongoing basis.
- Attendance and contribution to relevant Pricing committees, BCFs, and Credit committees and taking ownership of transactional banking pricing, credit requests etc.
- Drive Performance by prioritising and executing identified leads and pipelines.
- Focus on innovative client solutions and problem solving by showing initiative, creative thinking and drawing from previous experience.
- Identification of cross sell into other areas with Nedbank, specifically non-risk based products, is an imperative.
- Provide advice to key business stakeholders by proactively flagging innovative, tactical and strategic issues for discussion and implementation.
- Build and maintain proactive and constructive relationships with internal stakeholders (Credit, Investment Banking, Property Finance and Client Coverage) through regular engagement and knowledge sharing, and through delivery of good quality work outputs.
- Engage with teams in other clusters by participation and collaboration in transactional, funding and lending initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders through informal and formal knowledge sharing and feedback.
- Build depth of skills and knowledge in the team by sharing knowledge and insight with team members.
- Improve productivity and reduce costs by improving work processes through offering innovative ideas and input and soliciting input.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes through developing an understanding of agreed procedures and timeous completion of required compliance training.
- Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g. staff surveys etc).
- Participate and support corporate responsibility initiatives for the achievement of business strategy (e.g.. Green Strategy).
