Responsible for the total operation of the canteen

Control canteen access for visitors, guests, and contract users
Define menu items with price and subsidy
Limit food quantity (for e.g. - an employee cannot have more than 1 lunch per day) to avoid manipulations.
Ability to do menu planning, forecasting and keep track of the day to day running of the canteen.
Stock taking and making sure canteen is stocked
Liaising with clients on purchase orders
Managing of canteen staff
Making sure that canteen is clean and ensuring that cleanliness is implemented
Managing front of house staff
Ensuring that canteen is always safe and that monies, keys are locked away
Organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations
Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of the restaurant, cafeteria or other food and beverage services
Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures
Control inventory, monitor revenues and modify procedures and prices
Co ordinate staff work schedules and monitor staff performance
Negotiate arrangements with clients for catering or use of facilities for Functions or receptions
Purchasing all canteen products and supplies as required. This includes placing, receiving, unpacking, storing, inventorying, and the verification of all orders.
Ensuring best pricing for all inventory, as well as good and prompt service
Ensuring appropriate inventory controls are in place to increase profit margins
Production of sales report, which includes daily sales, weekly sales and sales per item
Managing the finances of the canteen
Menu preparation for the operation that includes healthy food options, special tournament menus and new menu items designed to maximize sales and net profits
Ensuring strategic placement of equipment to increase efficiency and flow in the canteen and improve customer service time
Responsible to ensure that the canteen area and kitchen are clean and sanitary at all times and that all appliances and machines are cleaned in conjunction with the kitchen manager
Maintaining canteen security, inclusive of securing of cash, keys and admittance of authorized persons only in the canteen area
Good listening and communication skills
Coordinating according to food safety standards
Take care of the administrative portion of running the operations
Enforcing discipline
Hire all members of the kitchen staff by conducting interviews and verifying references & train staff members with the kitchen manager
Creating schedules for all staff scheduling of Shifts
Ordering inventory of Stock to keep up with demand
Performing quality control on food leaving the kitchen
Managing inventory so that all necessary ingredients are stocked for service
Hiring & training staff and providing training to facilitate quick acclimation
Working with Management to develop and maintain the menu
Able to work under without supervision.
