**Job Title: Finance Assistant**

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Receive, review, and verify invoices for appropriate documentation and approval.
- Enter and upload invoices into the accounting system.
- Match invoices to proof of deliveries and resolve discrepancies.
- Participate in regular stock takes and assist in inventory management.
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
- Reconcile creditor statements to ensure they accurately reflect the current position and address any discrepancies promptly.
- Verify the accuracy of documents received from creditors and conduct random checks against delivery notes.
- Coordinate with the Finance Manager to prepare payment schedules.
- Maintain vendor files and ensure all information is current and accurate.
- Communicate with suppliers to resolve invoice/payment issues.
- Negotiate payment terms with suppliers when necessary.
- Assist with month-end closing.
- Maintain accurate historical records by filing documents properly.
- Support the finance team with ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Participate in regular stock takes and assist in inventory management.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and maintain thorough financial records.
- Assist in maintaining and updating the Fixed Asset Register.
- Be the back-up to the Finance Assistant-Debtors
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of files for BEE Verification and compliance.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by Management.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Certification in Accounts Payable/bookkeeping or accounting is a plus
- Proficiency in point-of-sale and accounting software.
- High level of integrity and commitment.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proactive and able to take initiative in solving problems.
- Strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft excel, accounting & point-of-sale software
- Sage (Pastel) experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- High level of integrity and commitment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with suppliers and team members.
- Keen attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in handling cash and processing financial transactions.
- Understanding of standard accounting procedures and compliance requirements.

**Application Process**:
Pay: R9 000,00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Middelburg, Mpumalanga: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Microsoft Excel: 2 years (preferred)
- Accounting software: 2 years (preferred)
