Our client, in the **Avocado Production and Sales Industry**, is looking for a seasoned **Sales Representative** to join their team based in **Stellenbosch **as soon as possible.

**Brief description**

The position of the company Sales Representative consists of selling Ripe & Ready avocados to restaurants and fresh food retailers where technical or scientific knowledge is required in the food and fresh produce industry.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms;
- Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information such as selling strategies and marketing information;
- Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs, and to explain how these needs could be met by specific products and services;
- Emphasize product features based on analyses of customers' needs, and on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations;
- Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, and attending trade shows and conferences, etc.;
- Maintain customer records, using automated systems;
- Prepare sales contracts for orders obtained, and submit orders for processing;
- Quote prices, credit terms and other bid specifications;
- Select the correct products or assist customers in making product selections, based on customers' needs, product specifications, and applicable regulations.

**Qualifications and requirements**
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent;
- Ability to persuade others to change their minds and behavior, and to give full attention to what other people are saying;
- Ability to be aware of others’ reactions and understand why they react as they do;
- Valid driver’s license

**Working Conditions and Benefits**:

- Full-time position, Monday through Friday, plus promotions, trade shows and conferences that may fall on a weekend or outside normal working hours.
- Flexible work hours (+- 45 hours/week)
- Available after hours and weekends to assist clients should a problem arise.
- Base Salary + Commission
- Phone allowance
- Company Car

**Location**: Stellenbosch.

**Salary**: R10 000-R15 000 (depending on experience) + Commission and other benefits

**Starting date**: As soon as possible.
