-The main purpose of this position is to perform administrative tasks in support of departmental operations within the Financial Stability Department of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).
-Detailed Description

Engage in short-term planning and perform tasks against work plans as defined with the manager.
- Perform general administration in support of departmental operations, the departmental strategy and business continuity management, including but not limited to correspondence, personnel-related matters, governance, risk and compliance, and records management.
- Provide support to the divisional heads with regard to the administrative needs in their respective areas, including but not limited to the scheduling of meetings and sourcing of venues, and the drafting and formatting of documents.
- Provide support to the department with regard to travel and accommodation arrangements.
- Coordinate and track invitations and due dates to ensure timely responses to requests, prepare relevant documentation and reports, and support internal meetings with logístical arrangements, agenda preparation, minute taking and coordinating appropriate follow-up actions, where applicable.
- Perform the duties of the departmental records officer and participate in record management projects.
- Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and the monitoring of budget-related expenditure, monthly variance reporting and quarterly forecasting.
- Provide administrative support to the manager in coordinating the formulation and review of the departmental strategy.
- Provide administrative support to the manager in compiling reports (i.e. management information reports and top-of-mind reports).
- Assist with the arrangements of all departmental functions (i.e. team buildings and conferences).
- Engage effectively with stakeholders in and outside of the department in service of the department.
- Perform administrative duties on an ad hoc or projects basis as requested by the manager/management, including relieving team members as required, while ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines, standards and policies.
- Perform work independently within established practices, given processes, rules and regulations, ensuring compliance with standards, policies and other guidelines in executing own tasks.
- Diagnose problems and choose and/or modify routines to deal with them, displaying the ability to provide solutions for problems within a defined context.
- Willingly address any gaps in own performance of tasks and activities against the required standards.
Job Requirements

a Diploma (NQF 5) in Business Administration or an equivalent qualification; and
- one to three years’ relevant experience in a business administration environment.
