**SALARY RANGE**:R500K per annum

**JOB PURPOSE**: The purchasing manager is responsible for company's procurement activities. The purchasing manager's responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply needs, and overseeing the purchasing team in their daily activities.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. Developing and implementing purchasing strategies.

2. Managing daily purchasing activities.

3. Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc.

4. Crafting negotiation strategies and closing deals with optimal terms

5. Tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.

6. Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.

7. Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.

8. Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets.

9. Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.

10. Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power

11. Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.

12. Assess, manage and mitigate risks.

13. Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.

14. Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
15. Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.

16. Working to improve purchasing systems and processes.

17. Training new employees in the purchasing process and how to use the purchasing system.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**

**EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**
- Prior experience in Purchasing Management or similar Finance Management
- related role.
- 3-5 years experience.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, or related field.

**SKILLS**
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- In-depth understanding of the market.
- Ability to maintain and control of department-wide budget.
- Excellent analytical and reporting skills.

**Salary**: R1.00 - R2.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Alberton, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
