We are searching for a confident Scrap Metal Procurement Officer to join our team at in Alrode.

**Responsibilities**
- Meeting with suppliers and assisting with negotiations of rates and prices.
- Cost reporting on monthly acquisitions and progress reports for internal departments
- Updating of pricing on stock items
- Regular review of supplier rates - research the market for best prices (benchmarking)
- Maintaining relationship with existing suppliers and sourcing new suppliers
- Provide feedback on areas of cost saving and execution thereof.
- Assist with category management within the procurement portfolio.
- Ensuring that strict procurement processes and procedures are followed within the company’s procurement policies and regulations.
- Liaise with other departments within the organization to establish their material requirements.
- Working hand in hand with Operations Manager to improve procurement planning.
- Working closely with Stores personnel to ensure on-time ordering for stock orders.
- Assist in managing the daily stock orders.
- Daily expediting of outstanding and open orders.
- Drafting and maintaining certain procurement and store reporting.
- Converting requisitions to purchase orders.
- Processing of receipts of stock orders delivered.
- Assistance in evaluation minimum, maximum and re-order levels, capturing and keeping data integrity updated within the procurement and stock modules.
- Assisting with cycle count

**Requirements**:

- **Grade 12**:

- Relevant Certificate/Diploma in Procurement and Stores Management
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Procurement/Stores environment
- MS Office knowledge
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent customer service orientation.
- Strong negotiating skill.
- Knowledge and ability to use precise tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices.
- Must be a fast learner and multitask.
- Experience working in an outdoor warehouse or similar environment.
- Completes task effectively and efficiently.
- Good team player. Proven ability to work effectively with others.
- Fluent in English, additional languages an advantage (African & Indian)

**Job Type**: Contract
Contract length: 3 months

**Salary**: R14,000.00 - R18,000.00 per month

**Experience**:

- Procurement: 3 years (preferred)
- Microsoft Office: 2 years (preferred)
