Manage, regulate, and provide insight and guidance on the collection, storage, accessibility, usage, quality, and protection of data
- Manage the lifecycle of data and information equipping the business with insights that inform their strategic decisions
- Establish a data acquisition strategy that includes data procurement, data generation, and data partnerships with third party organizations
- Lay out, plan, and manage project delivery in support of business strategy
- Provide input for business-wide data activities and identify champions for data ownership, standardization, accessibility, and governance
- Identify priorities and business opportunities utilising and analysing existing data
- Identify and manage risks, resources, and budgets
- Effectively communicate across multiple teams and stakeholders
- Enable business growth by utilising available existing data and identifying new and innovative sources of data
- Monitor and provide feedback on the usage of and compliance with data and information management across all departments
- Define and develop appropriate analytical models that leverages the power of predictive insights and analytics
- Liaise with business areas to identify data and information requirements and opportunities
- Determine how best to leverage data assets and provide the required data analytics infrastructure
- Define and drive all analytics and business intelligence initiatives
- Provide the data analytics infrastructure in support of the achievement of operational business goals and targets
- Develop and implement tools for data analysis and visualization providing insight to behaviour, risk, and performance
- Partner effectively with IT to ensure systems support efficient and effective data analytics
- Research, identify and promote the use of industry leading trends and new data management technologies
- Identify data analytic opportunities and ensure data and information compliance with the business policy and legal requirements
- Use diverse sources of data and information to develop, present and strengthen dashboards, including MNO Data, CRB Data, Social and other Digital Data
- Define and manage required data models ensuring that all data collected is connected, processed, and stored inside the system in a manner that supports accessibility and functionality and minimised risk
- Partner with Inventory and Warehouse departments to ensure strict compliance and conformity in management of stock and non-stock data across all systems.
- Develop standards, policies and practices for internal data storing and sharing
- Generate, align, and standardize data models used within the company
- Identify and establish mechanisms to gather and source alternative data, including industry and competitor data
- Research and recommend systems and processes that would support different departments
- Build value add reporting functionality through PowerBi that support data integrity requirements and the needs of each business area
- Review and provide training on report usage and interpretation
- Define data pipeline and technology stack, optimizing for speed, collaboration, security, and scale, for example Inventory app
- Knowledge of SQL operations and extractions, loading of databases, writing of scripts to extract information from SQL into PowerPivot in excel
- Ensure the integrity of synced data between all systems including but not limited to MS Azure, MS Dynamics, SQL Server, and Power BI
- Ensure the administration of system data inputs and exports and that data linking and mapping is laid out across systems
- Manage, lead and develop team including data analytics capabilities

**What theoretical knowledge (e.g. degree / diploma) does the job require?**

**B REQUIREMENTS**
- Grade 12 or equivalent required
- BCom in Finance, Economics or a Degree in IT, Computer Science, Data Science, or related qualification required

**What experience (e.g. previous exposure) does the job require?**
- Minimum 3 years working experience in a retail or related environment
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Senior Business Analyst Team Leader, or, 4 years as a BI/Financial Analyst Manager
- Experience leading and managing a business analyst team and SLA’s with service providers
- Project management experience with Agile & Scrum knowledge
- Experience with Supply Chain processes
- Proven record of operating large data governance programs.
