**_ Position Purpose:_**
- Heads the performance and continuous strategy development, evaluation, monitoring and

tracking of Procurement functions performance.
- Manages continuous improvement of procurement function and review of relevant processes

and socialising proposed changes by ensuring the identification, communicating, and driving
- continuous improvement initiatives.
- Responsible for developing procurement system recommendations based on business

requirements, costs, benefits and system performance, mange the knowledge management/
- document control platform.
- Responsible for the system management teams and management of procurement systems to

best support overall Procurement processes.
- Leads collation / reporting of the annual Procurement plan, made up of category demand

plans.
- Leads the projects implementation, the automation of current procurement and sourcing

processes engaging with the continuous improvement team and IT system teams to drive fit#for-purpose changes and to
- ensure alignment to the Transnet technology roadmap.
- Support the CPO and team on ad hoc requests (e.g., reporting / memo / matters arising inputs)

for National Treasury, internal committees, etc.
**_ Position outputs:_**
- Lead a high-performing Performance Management and CI Specialist Procurement Data and

Systems function.
- Define, drive adoption and adherence of Procurement policies, processes, procedures,

technologies and tools.
- Support risk controls and risk strategy planning as it relates to the function, identify, and

mitigate risks as required.
- Represent the function in wider business environment.
- Undertake responsibility for implementing “best practice”.
- Oversee collation and reporting of the annual Procurement Plan, made up of category

demand plans as required by the office of the GCPOs.
- Identify function’s challenges and recommend solutions
- Oversee projects and initiatives to improve functionalities of existing ERP and other IT

systems for the Procurement function.
- Ensure continuous engagement with key stakeholders to enable optimal level of systems

integration and standardisation
- Research / Analysis
- Encourage constant research in development of leading practice, standards, methodologies,

tools and knowledge repositories within Performance Management and CI and Data and
- Systems function
- Develops viable business development support programs for continuous improvement in

collaboration with end users and Procurement functional teams
- Stays abreast of latest innovations in the Procurement space, including collaborating with

teams (e.g., Data & Systems) for new trends and technologies.
- Oversee function’s performance management and monitoring of inherent KPIs.

COE Enablement Support
- Drive delivery and adoption of best practices; thought leadership and innovation while

managing risk and building capacity across the function.
- Ensure that the team keeps abreast of latest developments, knowledge, and practices within

their respective areas of expertise.
- Demonstrate expert strategic commercial judgement.
- Establish comprehensive programmes for the function.
- Drive capability development initiatives within the unction and establish sound capabilities

through coaching and engagement.
- Promote efficient, accurate records, and effective information management.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally.
- Embed standardisation and compliance in respect of master data management, data

integrity and data governance, as well as systems integration, use and controls.

- 8-10 years of relevant experience in large

enterprise- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
- Honors Degree (will be an added advantage)
- Hands-on line-management experience
- PFMA, PPPFA and public sector Procurement

- MCIPS certification preferrable.
