**Introduction**
This position will be based at the Head Office in Woodmead, with travel to the operational sites as required.
**Description**
The purpose of this position is to identify, develop, implement, and monitor business improvement projects / initiatives across the sites and to ensure the accurate reporting thereof. The incumbent will also be responsible to provide quality technical support to operational sites and new projects
**.**
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Develop a Business Improvement & Technical strategy and execution thereof
- Analyse the full business to identify and prioritise opportunities for improvement
- Coordinate Business Improvement initiatives and projects across the sites
- Execute improvement initiatives to deliver positive value against the key business drivers
- Develop a continuous / business improvement culture through training, coaching and communication across the sites
- Ensure that specific, measurable and appropriate KPI’s are in place against which progress is regularly reviewed and monitored
- Support business systems development, re-engineering and reporting of site wide systems and processes
- Educate management and employees in business analysis tools and techniques to realise improvement results, and support the effective deployment of these tools and techniques across the sites
- Build and maintain stakeholder relationships ensuring that all internal and external stakeholders are kept up to date regarding information required and progress made on various projects
- Complete Initial Value Propositions (IVPs) for shared ideas / opportunities / projects, and ensure that they are properly documented
- Ensure that identified Projects are ratified and that the Project portfolio is up to date with value tracking and reporting
- Must be able to develop and sustain a value add service proposition to all stakeholders through systems (data analytical centre)
- To guide and mentor Industrial Engineering Graduates and provide support to site based BI Specialists
- Provide quality technical support to operational sites and new projects
- Support Business Development in identifying and shaping opportunities and pairing value proposition to clients
**Qualification Requirements**
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related discipline
- A formal qualification in Business Improvement or systems development will be advantageous
- A Postgraduate Business Management qualification will be advantageous
**Experience and Skills Requirements**
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role in the mining or mineral processing industry including a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership / management role
- Experience in the use of business improvement tools i.e. lean manufacturing and constraints analysis etc.
- Business improvement project management and analytical skills
- Data analytics knowledge
- Demonstrated passion to develop a continuous / business improvement culture and lead business improvement initiatives
- Solid understanding and experience using continuous / business improvement techniques and methodologies
- Ability to facilitate and lead change in all areas and levels of the business
- Sound interpersonal skills especially in the areas of communication and group facilitation
- Ability to coach site management and improvement teams as required in the use of the BI framework, strategy, tools and methodologies
- Ability to think “outside the box” and create an innovative environment
- Excellent influencing and coaching skills
- Excellent understanding of mineral processing, process plant design and asset management
- Valid driver’s license code B, EB or C1
