Sales and Tendering Manager

Chemical or Mechanical Degree or Diploma essential
3 - 5 years of experience in a technical sales, proposals, tendering and estimation role. Detailed knowledge and understanding of the water and wastewater treatment industry.
To manage engineering proposals department of this EPC contractor.
Manage a team of 5 - 6 staff in the Proposals Division.
To also obtain new business and grow and maintain existing business.
Keep abreast with all proposal opportunities and passing on of all leads through to the department.
Follow up all enquiries and proposals.
To maintain close relationships with all suppliers and clients.
To be fully involved in handover of projects from proposal to contracts.
To hold regular pricing meetings before submitting proposal.
Attend budget meetings, sales meetings and seminars regularly.
Conduct technical evaluations and/or site inspections, initial design and costing of the capital and operational expenditure related to water and wastewater treatment systems including possible refurbishments.
Preparing conceptual or preliminary designs and proposals according to each clients' requirements and specifications.
To issue weekly and daily reports from trips from extended visits.
To develop relationships with key contacts in the industry.
Control and monitor expenditure.
Measure performance of the department and of individuals.
To facilitate training and development of staff.
Co-ordinate submission of proposals.
Assist in drafting and checking of contracts.
Be involved in contract hand over meetings with internal participants once order is accepted to confirm areas of responsibility etc.
