Cape Town, South Africa JSM Business Services Full time

Our client, a leading fish processing company that also imports and exports seafood products from and to various countries worldwide, would like to appoint an experienced Human Resources Manager to be based at their plant in Paarden Island.

**Responsibilities**:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to effectively communicate with staff at all levels
- Ability to conduct research and analyze data
- Self-motivated: Ability to work with little supervision
- Strong ability to multitask.
- Must have own transport
- Manage full HR Function within the business.
- Collating information for 3rd party payroll processing.
- Ensure weekly wages is submitted on time and processed as per company policy.
- Draw up charges for disciplinary matters and guide relevant line management through the process.
- Initiate hearings when needed.
- Deal effectively and efficiently with grievances.
- General admin duties (staff queries, leave app. etc.)
- Recruitment of staff - Create Job Specs, advertise job openings, liaise with recruitment agencies and conduct interviews.
- Onboarding new staff, completing IT take on forms, arranging factory tours.
- Ensure management hold performance and learning plan discussions with staff in line with the plan.
- Compile monthly HR report to the Directors.
- Conduct EE Meetings and Manage EE process and reporting thereof
- Create, update and implement company policies and procedures
- Create Job Descriptions and keep updated
- Arrange and co-ordinate training, sourcing providers, make all relevant bookings and ensure all records (training registers, certificates etc) are kept on file
- Assist where needed with legislated OHS training
- Manage Learnership programmes
- Ensure all information is accurate for submissions to the relevant Seta’s inclusive of WSP, ATR and WFP.
- Deal with audits (BEE, EE, Seta and DOL) and do internal audits

Experience and Skills required:

- 20 years relevant HR experience (at least 10 years at a senior management level)
- CCMA experience (Conciliation and Arbitration)
- Dealing with Union and negotiations
- Must have extensive knowledge of BCEA and LRA
- VIP Payroll and Timekeeping (Viper and/or T&A) - advantageous

Qualifications:

- Grade 12/Matric
- BCom Degree in Human Resources or similar field
- Registered facilitator / assessor advantageous

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Cape Town, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
