We are looking to recruit a permanent Dispatch & Fleet Manager, to work for United Pharmaceutical Distributors (UPD). The role will be based at the Roodepoort branch and will report to the New Business Manager.

**Job description**:

- Job Purpose:
To manage all aspects of last-mile service delivery, including but not limited to supplier relationships, negotiations, operational requirements, creating efficiencies and administration functions in line with service requirements, operational budgets and delivering on the budgeted profit number.Job Objectives:
- Overall planning, coordinating, and monitoring logistics operations such as warehousing, inventory, transportation, and supply chain processes
- To manage both the Wholesale and Distribution dispatch and fleet business units
- To ensure that orders are assembled in line with operational SOP’S
- To ensure that orders are checked in line with operational SOP’s
- To ensure that orders are dispatched, as per allocated routes, on time and in full by UPD drivers and Owner driver personnel as per SLA’s
- To ensure that POD‘s are returned as stipulated by SLA, and updated online by the POD manager and team
- To manage the reverse logistics process by ensuring that pick-ups are done as per SLA’s via courier, owner driver and owned vehicles
- To ensure all CRMs allocated to Dispatch and Fleet are completed and closed within 30 days.
- To manage and oversee the operation of the owner driver personnel and check that they meet required operational standards in line with applicable SOP
- To ensure that customer queries are reviewed and authorized or rejected on a daily/weekly/monthly basis and that credit is passed were due
- To develop customer relationships in order to maximize the customer experience
- To ensure that individual and departmental operational and cost targets are met/adhered to.
- To ensure that the outbound department comply with Good Wholesale and Distribution practice; adhere to UPD SOP’s Record, rectify and report errors to management.
- To ensure that operational cost containment targets and stipulated cut-off time and deadlines are met and complied with
- To manage the HR management component of the department this will include performance management, talent identification and management, disciplinary action and employee wellness.
- To manage courier relationships with regard to holding couriers to contractual SLAs and agreements.
- To attend meetings and presentations internally and externally
- To ensure expense budgets are forecasted correctly and no overspend against expense budgets
- To ensure resources are correctly aligned and utilized to capacity
- To ensure ongoing training of all supervisors
- To implement a succession plan for all supervisory/team lead roles
- To adhere to strict safety protocols
- To understand lean six sigma to create operational excellence.

**Minimum requirements**:

- Education and Experience- Relevant Degree / Diploma in supply chain / warehousing / transport / distribution / Supply Chain
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in logistics, outbound, operational related environment of which 7 years should be in management.
- Pharmaceutical Distribution experience.

Knowledge- Matric with a degree in warehousing / transport / distribution / supply chain
- Minimum 3 years in an outbound, operational related environment
- Pharmaceutical Distribution experience.
