**Purpose**

**Key responsibilities**

**Claims process**:

- Oversee the entire claims lifecycle, from initial intake to final settlement
- Analyse claim details, including damages, policy coverage, and applicable regulations, to determine appropriate reserves
- Negotiate fair and timely settlements with clients, claimants, and third-party representatives
- Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices in claims handling
- Manage and monitor the work of Claims Consultant and other specialists involved in the claim process

**Team Leadership and Management**:

- Lead and mentor a team of claims professionals, providing coaching, training, and ongoing support
- Delegate tasks effectively, monitor team performance, and identify opportunities for development
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment

**Communication and Client Service**:

- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients throughout the claims process, providing timely updates and addressing their inquiries and concerns with empathy and professionalism
- Manage client expectations and ensure a positive claims experience

**Data Analysis and Process Improvement**:

- Analyse claims data to identify trends, potential areas for cost management, and opportunities to improve claim processing efficiency
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement process improvements that enhance the claims handling experience for both clients and the company

**Professional Development**:

- Stay informed about industry developments, legislative changes, and best practices in claims handling.
- Continuously develop professional knowledge and skills through ongoing training and participation in relevant industry events.

**Minimum requirements**
- Non-negotiable - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., criminology, forensics, business, insurance, or finance)
- Non-negotiable - must have motor claims experience
- Proven experience in motor insurance claims management
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- In-depth knowledge of motor insurance industry practices and regulations
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
