Sales in The Metal Industry with Export Experience

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Sales & Business Development**:
Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed retail sales targets for metal products in local and international markets, particularly within Africa.
Identify and build relationships with new retail partners, wholesalers, and distributors in the metal industry.
Negotiate and close sales agreements with retail customers and key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Maintain and expand the customer base by offering tailored solutions to meet the specific needs of clients in different African regions.
**Export & Logistics**:
Manage the full export cycle for metal products, ensuring smooth logistics, customs compliance, and timely delivery to African clients.
Collaborate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and shipping partners to coordinate shipments and ensure cost-effective, on-time delivery.
Monitor and track international shipments, resolving any delays or issues promptly.
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of trade regulations, tariffs, and import/export documentation for African countries.
**Customer Service & Account Management**:
Provide excellent after-sales service, ensuring customer satisfaction and addressing any issues related to product quality or delivery.
Develop long-term relationships with customers by understanding their specific needs and offering personalized support.
Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback to inform decision-making and strategy adjustments.
**Market Research & Strategy**:
Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitors in the African market for metal products.
Work closely with the marketing and product development teams to tailor offerings and promotional materials to specific regions or countries in Africa.
Analyze customer data and feedback to improve product offerings, sales tactics, and overall customer experience.
**Sales Forecasting & Reporting**:
Prepare and manage sales forecasts, budgets, and KPIs for retail sales and export operations.
Regularly report sales performance and market conditions to senior management.
**Key Skills & Qualifications**:
**Experience**: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in external sales within the metal industry, to the retail branches with a focus on export to Africa.
**Knowledge**: Deep understanding of the metal industry, including key products market trends, and logistics.
**Export Expertise**: Strong knowledge of export processes, including shipping, customs, and international trade regulations, specifically related to African markets.
**Sales & Negotiation Skills**: Proven ability to build relationships with retail clients and negotiate profitable deals.
**Cultural Awareness**: Familiarity with cultural, economic, and business practices in various African regions.
**Languages**: Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of additional African languages (French, Swahili, Arabic, etc.) is a plus.
**Communication Skills**: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and persuasively.
**Problem-Solving**: Ability to resolve complex issues related to product delivery, customer service, and logistics.
**Travel**: Willingness to travel occasionally to key markets in Africa for client meetings and business development.
**Education**:
Degree in business administration, International Trade, Marketing, or a related field would be a plus.
